Grazie, Armando (Coletto, ndr), di questo tuo vivo intervento. Sono d’accordo al 90%, sia nella disanima delle cause del pessimismo che nella argomentazione dell’invito ad aprirsi al futuro della Missione che viene! Mi manca però lo sguardo almeno finale sulla stella polare verso cui in concreto e in particolare dobbiamo puntare con audacia ed entusiasmo noi Saveriani (per non perderci nell’immenso universo stellare): la stella che ci guida chiaramente verso l’ ‘ad Gentes’, cioè i mondi socioculturali ‘non ancora’ sfiorati dal Sole evangelico!
Purtroppo, ma qui parlo per me, anche in questo vecchio (ma non ancora abbandonato) ‘Nido degli aquilotti’ Saveriano della Casa Madre, le preoccupazioni-paure-malattie e tribolazioni personali possono ‘distrarci’ e renderci difficile di puntare a vivere, in profonda unione esistenziale, il momento supremo del cammino missionario di Gesù stesso, la Croce!, il passaggio scosceso ma l’unico che ci può aprire gli spazi infiniti della resurrezione... Aiutiamoci allora reciprocamente con l’intercessione fraterna. Grazie. (Antonio Trettel sx)

I agree 90% with both your analysis of the causes of pessimism and your argument for the invitation to be open to the future of the Mission that is coming! However, I am missing at least a final glance at the North Star toward which we Xaverians must boldly and enthusiastically aim (so as not to get lost in the vast universe): the star that clearly guides us toward the ’ad Gentes’, that is, the socio-cultural world ‘not yet’ touched by the evangelical Sun!
Unfortunately, but here I speak for myself, even in this old (but not yet abandoned) ‘Eagles Nest’ of the Mother House, personal worries, fears, illnesses, and personal tribulations can ‘distract’ us and make it difficult for us to aim to live, in profound existential union, the supreme moment of Jesus’ own missionary journey, the Cross!
