Il 23 marzo 2025 è stato un giorno speciale per la Parrocchia di Saint Joseph a Bongor, nella diocesi di Pala, Ciad. La celebrazione della festa patronale è stata accompagnata dal ringraziamento al Signore per l'elezione di uno dei suoi parrocchiani a sindaco della città di Bongor.

Hanno anche avuto anche la gioia di accogliere monsignor Nicolas Nadji-Bab, vescovo della diocesi di Laï, che ha celebrato la l’Eucaristia, insieme a p. Antoine Ntabala Ntamwira, superiore delegato dei Missionari Saveriani in Ciad.

Per il nostro confratello, p. Thierry Bertrand Kengne Kamga sx, parroco di Bongor, la festa patronale di quest'anno è stata un'occasione per celebrare le vittorie, le gioie e i sogni realizzati in parrocchia grazie al Signore. Il Signore è stato ed è meraviglioso verso la comunità parrocchiale!

In onore di San Giuseppe, è stata organizzata una raccolta fondi per terminare la piastrellatura dell'Area Sacra. L'obiettivo è quello di rendere l'area di preghiera più bella e accogliente. La comunità cristiana è stata molto generosa nel sostenere questo progetto. E come ha fatto notare il vescovo Nicolas Nadji-Bab, possiamo dire con orgoglio che è una comunità meravigliosa.

Rivolgendosi poi al signor Joseph Ngargam, nuovo sindaco della città di Bongor, il vescovo Nicolas Nadji-Bab si è congratulato con lui per la sua elezione e gli ha ricordato cosa ci si aspetta da un politico eletto che sia cristiano: “come San Giuseppe, devi vegliare sulla città e sui suoi abitanti con sollecitudine, cioè creare condizioni di sicurezza e di vita per ogni cittadino; garantire i bisogni primari della gente in termini di acqua ed elettricità e rendere la città pulita e strutturata…”. March 23^rd, 2025 was a special day for the Saint Joseph Parish in Bongor, Diocese of Pala, Chad. The celebration of the patronal feast was accompanied by thanksgiving to the Lord for the election of one of her parishioners as mayor of the city of Bongor.

They also had the joy of welcoming Mgr. Nicolas Nadji-Bab, bishop of the diocese of Laï, who celebrated the Eucharist, together with Fr. Antoine Ntabala Ntamwira, Superior Delegate of the Xaverian Missionaries in Chad.

For our confrere, Fr Thierry Bertrand Kengne Kamga sx, parish priest of Bongor, this year's patronal feast was an opportunity to celebrate the victories, joys and dreams realised in the parish thanks to the Lord. The Lord has been and is wonderful to the parish community!

In honour of St Joseph, a fundraising event was organised to finish the tiling of the Sacred Area. The aim is to make the prayer area more beautiful and welcoming. The Christian community has been very generous in supporting this project. And as Bishop Nicolas Nadji-Bab pointed out, we can proudly say that it is a “wonderful community”.

Turning then to Mr Joseph Ngargam, the new mayor of the city of Bongor, Bishop Nicolas Nadji-Bab congratulated him on his election and reminded him of what is expected of an elected politician who is a Christian: “like Saint Joseph, you must take care of the city and its inhabitants with solicitude, that is, create conditions of security and life for every citizen; guarantee the basic needs of the people in terms of water and electricity and make the city clean and structured...”.
