Il Signore ci ha accompagnato bene fino alla fine del tempo di Natale 2022. Complessivamente l'anno 2023 procede nella fiducia nel Signore, l’Emmanuele. I confratelli della Regione Burundi stanno bene: anziani e giovani. Includiamo anche i nostri studenti di Propedeutica e Filosofia II e III. La missione è vissuta anche nella debolezza: p. Modesto Todeschi si trova a Parma per cure e p. Luigi Vitella rimasto a Kamenge.
Come circoscrizione, abbiamo celebrato la nostra Assemblea Precapitolare. Tutta la giornata di martedì 10 gennaio 2023 - aiutati dal professor Savin Ndereyimana della diocesi di Bururi - è stata dedicata all’ascolto, alla riflessione e ai lavori di gruppo e alla posta in comune. Mercoledì 11 gennaio, invece, l’Assemblea precapitolare ha trattato aspetti più inerenti alla circoscrizione. Per l’ormai imminente Capitolo Regionale (24-27 gennaio 2023), conteremo anche sulla presenza del Consigliere Generale p. Fabien Kalehezo T’Chiribuka.
Per chi viaggia in Burundi, abbiamo buone notizie: ora per entrare in Burundi non è più richiesto il test Covid e i viaggiatori stranieri potranno risparmiare i 100 dollari per il tampone.
Un’altra bella notizia è che dall'inizio della settimana scorsa si trovano in visita nella nostra circoscrizione la signora Carmela, sorella del Servo di Dio, p. Ottorino Maule sx, Ottavio, suo nipote, e Luigi, parente stretto della sua famiglia. (Gabriel Basuzwa sx)
The Lord accompanied us well till the end of Christmas season 2022, while the year 2023, by and large, proceeds with trust in Him, the Emmanuel. Confreres in the Region of Burundi, both old and young, are doing fine. We include our students of Propaedeutics and Philosophy II and III as well. But some also live the mission in weakness: Fr. Modesto Todeschi is now in Parma for treatment, whereas Fr. Luigi Vitella remains in Kamenge.
As circumscription, we celebrated our Pre-Chapter Assembly. With the help of Prof. Savin Ndereyimana from the diocese of Bururi, the entire day of Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, was dedicated to listening, reflection, team work and sharing in assembly. Instead, on Wednesday, January 11, the Pre-Chapter Assembly dealt with aspects directly related to our circumscription. As for the forthcoming Regional Chapter (January 24th-27th, 2023), we will rely also on the presence of General Councillor, Fr. Fabien Kalehezo T’Chiribuka.
We have good news for travellers to Burundi: presently, a Covid test is no more required of visitors entering Burundi and, therefore, foreign travellers will save 100 US dollars for each swab test.
Another beautiful piece of news is that since the beginning of last week, Mrs Carmela, sister of the Servant of God Fr. Ottorino Maule s.x., Ottavio, his nephew, and Luigi, a close relative of his family, are on a visit to our circumscription. (Gabriel Basuzwa s.x.)
