Prega per noi come sacerdote, prega in noi come nostro capo, è pregato da noi come nostro Dio”. Ogni anno, al mercoledì della V Domenica di Quaresima, mi ritrovo a leggere le parole di S. Agostino. Dal momento che gli anni del mio sacerdozio missionario sono 60, le avrò letto almeno 60 volte! Non so come mai, forse a motivo della mia età, avviata al traguardo degli 85, esse hanno attirato in maniera particolare la mia attenzione… Auguro a tutti i Saveriani Buona Pasqua. “…our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, will be the one who prays for us, prays in us, is prayed to by us. He prays for us as our priest, prays in us as our head, is prayed by us as our God.” Every year, on Wednesday of the Fifth Week of Lent, I happen to read these words by St. Augustine. Since I have already 60 years of missionary priesthood, I may have read these words at least 60 times! I do not know why – probably because of my age which is about to reach 85 –, these words draw my attention in a particular way… I wish all Xaverians a Happy Easter. (Antonio Germano, Das, s.x.)
