Il 18 luglio 2022 si è concluso a Bujumbura il Convegno Continentale dei Formatori in Africa (12-18 luglio 2022).

Elenchiamo in seguito alcuni elementi sottolineati dai 21 confratelli che vi hanno preso parte:

1. L’osservazione più evidente che rileviamo è il coinvolgimento sempre più significativo dei giovani confratelli nella formazione saveriana. Lodiamo l’interculturalità del gruppo dei formatori. Ringraziamo sinceramente la Direzione Generale per il suo investimento nella formazione dei formatori.
2. La ristrutturazione del percorso formativo è ormai una realtà e sta convergendo verso questa tanto attesa armonizzazione del percorso formativo nella nostra famiglia. Lo schema è ora il seguente: Propedeutica - Pre-noviziato - Noviziato - Filosofia - Teologia. Questa ristrutturazione, come tutte le cose nuove, richiede fiducia e coraggio.
3. AMV e accompagnamento vocazionale più coerenti per un percorso comune. Consideriamo l’Africa come il terreno vocazionale che la Provvidenza ci invita a coltivare. Siamo consapevoli di dover lavorare affinché questa raccolta sia sostenibile e vantaggiosa a tutte le altre circoscrizioni saveriane, e quindi alla Chiesa universale.
4. Lo spirito sinodale e la formazione: partecipazione dei laici e intercessione dei martiri. È stata più volte sottolineata l’importanza della sinodalità nella formazione dei futuri missionari. L’abbiamo percepita nel coinvolgimento della presenza di donne e di laici nella formazione…

Convegno Continentale dei Formatori in Africa

On July 18^th, 2022, the Continental Meeting of the Xaverian Formators in Africa (July 12^th-18^th, 2022) ended in Bujumbura.

Below is a list of some aspects highlighted by the 21 confreres attending the meeting:

1. One aspect which stands out as very significant is the growing involvement of young confreres in Xaverian formation. We commend the intercultural character of the formation teams and sincerely thank the General Direction for its commitment to the training of formators.
2. By now, the restructuring of the formation curriculum has been carried out and is converging towards the long-expected harmonisation of formation programmes in our family. At present, the curriculum is as follows: Propaedeutics – Pre-novitiate – Novitiate – Philosophical studies – Theological studies. This restructuring, like any new change, requires trust and courage.
3. A model of mission awareness and vocation promotion that is more coherent with the formation programme. We believe Africa is a soil rich of vocations, a soil that Providence invites us to till. We are aware that we must work to ensure the best and most profitable harvest for all Xaverian circumscriptions and the universal Church.
4. Synodality and formation: lay Christians participation and the intercession of the martyrs. The importance of synodality in the formation of future missionaries has been stressed several times. We realised such importance by considering the involvement of women and Lay men in formation work…
