L’Associazione missionaria Cuore Amico Fraternità ETS, fondata da don Mario Pasini, sacerdote e giornalista bresciano, 35 anni fa istituì il Premio Cuore Amico, definito il “Nobel dei missionari”. Viene assegnato annualmente a sacerdoti e religiosi, suore e laici, come riconoscimento per la loro preziosa opera che testimonia l’impegno della Chiesa per la promozione dei più poveri. 

Riguardo  all’attribuzione  del  Premio  per  l’anno  2025, l’ Associazione ha deciso di assegnarlo, per la sezione “religiosi”, al nostro confratello p. Luigi Paggi, per il suo impegno missionario verso i fuori casta Bengalesi e per aver sottratto decine di bambine e ragazze alla piaga dei matrimoni forzati offrendo un tetto, un letto e la possibilità di andare a scuola. 

L’attribuzione del Premio Cuore Amico comporta un’erogazione in denaro complessiva di € 50.000, da destinarsi ad un progetto di rilevanza per le sue opere sociali. La consegna dei Premi avrà luogo presso la Chiesa di San Cristo, in via Giovanni Piamarta n. 9 a Brescia (sede dei Missionari Saveriani), il prossimo sabato 18 ottobre 2025, alle ore 9.30.  

35 years ago, the missionary association Cuore Amico Fraternità ETS, founded by Fr. Mario Pasini, a priest and journalist from Brescia (Italy), established the Premio Cuore Amico (Friendly Heart Award), which has been defined as the “Nobel Prize for Missionaries.” This yearly award is given to priests, religious men and women, and lay Christians in recognition of their precious work as witnesses of the Church’s commitment to the promotion of the poor.

As for the recipient of the 2025 edition of the Award under the section “religious men”, the Association has decided to present it to our confrere Fr. Luigi Paggi for his missionary commitment towards Bangladeshi outcast and for rescuing dozens of girls and young women from the scourge of forced marriage, providing them with a roof, a bed and an opportunity for education.

The Cuore Amico Award provides for the allotment of a cash grant of €50,000 to be destined to a project of relevance to its social works. The award presentation will take place at Chiesa di San Cristo, via Giovanni Piamarta, n. 9 (house of the Xaverian Missionaries), in Brescia, next Saturday, October 18^th, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
