Giovedì 16 maggio 2024, alle ore 20:00, si è tenuto l’incontro “Open Zoom” del Forum Europeo. Con 34 collegamenti, l’incontro ha visto la partecipazione di circa 50 persone appartenenti alla Famiglia Carismatica Saveriana. All’incontro erano infatti invitati tutti i confratelli e i componenti della Famiglia Carismatica Saveriana. Oltre ai membri dell’Equipe del Forum Europeo, vi hanno partecipato confratelli della comunità di Nogent-Sur-Marne, Parigi, Francia; dalla Spagna oltre ad alcuni confratelli vi hanno partecipato i laici Saveriani e il gruppo delle famiglie Saveriane oltre all’ Asociación Entretejiendo. L’Italia ha visto la partecipazione di alcuni Laici Saveriani, di vari confratelli di Brescia e della Casa Madre. La regione del Regno Unito vi ha partecipato con due membri dell’ Equipe del Forum. Vi hanno partecipato anche le Missionarie di Maria – Saveriane.

L’incontro è stato anche l’occasione per informare tutti dell’incontro di Coatbridge del febbraio scorso quando il FORUM EUROPEO ha ripreso a funzionare. Inoltre, si è condivisa la proposta del Forum Europeo di organizzare un SEMINAR nei giorni 6 e 7 novembre 2024 presso la Casa Madre di Parma. Il tema proposto è quello della nostra missione in Europa alla luce dei molti cambiamenti in atto. A tale proposito, p. Paolo Tovo ha proposto a tutti la domanda: “Come pensi si debba vivere la missione della Famiglia Saveriana in Europa?” Molto ricca la condivisione dei vari interventi. Di certo l’Europa si presenta come luogo di missione; la forte domanda di spiritualità, l’esigenza di fraternità rappresentata dalla realtà del fare sempre più missione come Famiglia Carismatica Saveriana unita alla testimonianza sono i contenuti maggiormente sottolineati. L’equipe del FORUM si ritroverà a breve per decidere i passi concreti in vista della preparazione del SEMINAR di novembre 2024. Un particolare grazie a p. On Thursday, May 1^st, 2024, at 8:00 p.m., a meeting of the Xaverian European Forum was held on the Open Zoom platform. Connected from 34 different places, the meeting was attended by about 50 people belonging to the Xaverian Charismatic Family. In fact, all confreres and members of the Xaverian Charismatic Family had been invited. Apart from the member of the European Forum Team  (i.e. the steering committee), in attendance were also: the confreres of the community in Nogent-Sur-Marne, Paris, France; from Spain, some confreres, the Xaverian Laity, the group of Xaverian families and Asociación Entretejiendo; from Italy, some members of the Xaverian Laity, and various confreres from Brescia and the Mother House; from the UK, two members of the European Forum Team; and the Xaverian Missionary Sisters of Mary.

The event provided an opportunity for informing everyone about a previous meeting held last February in Coatbridge, which marked the restart of the European Forum. Moreover, during the meeting, the European Forum’s proposal to organise a SEMINAR on November 6^th and 7^th, 2024, at the Mother House in Parma, was discussed. The theme proposed for the seminar is about our mission in Europe in the light of the many changes taking place. In this regard, Fr. Paolo Tovo posed this question to all: “How do you think the mission of the Xaverian Family should be lived in Europe?” The ensuing discussion was very rich and participated. Certainly, Europe appears as a place for mission. The discussion emphasised the presence of a strong spiritual quest and the need for witness and fraternity in doing mission as a Xaverian Charismatic Family. The FORUM Team will meet soon to plan the concrete steps in the run-up to the November 2024 SEMINAR. A special thank goes to Fr. Patrick Duffy for his service in coordinating the event and to Fr.
