Primo mandato missionario a 7 catechisti e consegna del Crocefisso. In linea con il Motu Proprio (Antiquum ministerium) con cui Papa Francesco, nel maggio 2021, istituiva il ministero laicale del catechista, la diocesi di Hong Kong ha conferito il mandato ai nuovi missionari dopo un anno di formazione. Si tratta di un ministero istituito, con un mandato formale del vescovo, che “imprime un’accentuazione maggiore all’impegno missionario tipico di ciascun battezzato” (Antiquum ministerium, n. 7). Presteranno servizio nelle parrocchie, nelle Associazione degli universitari cattolici e nella Commissione Pastorale del Matrimonio e della Famiglia.

For the first time, seven catechists received the missionary mandate and were presented with the crucifix. In line with the Motu Proprio (Antiquum ministerium) by which, in May 2021, Pope Francis established the lay ministry of the catechist, the Diocese of Hong Kong gave the mandate to the new missionaries who had completed a year of formation. This is a ministry established by a formal mandate from the bishop, which “emphasizes even more the missionary commitment proper to every baptized person” (Antiquum ministerium, no. 7). The catechists will carry out their ministry in the parishes, within the Association of Catholic University Students, and within the Pastoral Commission for Marriage and the Family.
