La sera del 21 luglio 2022, nel seminterrato della chiesa in costruzione, è stato consegnato a p. Lucas Marandi sx, parroco, il titolo di “cittadino onorario, figlio della nostra terra”.

Un segno per ringraziare i Missionari Saveriani per i 30 anni di lavoro in Hortolândia, prima nella grande parrocchia Nossa Senhora Aparecida e poi, dopo il suo smembramento, anno 2015, nella nuova parrocchia San Guido Maria Conforti. P. Luca Marandi, come primo parroco, non solo ha profuso tutte le sue energie e il suo illuminato zelo per l’evangelizzazione, ma ha coinvolto tutti i parrocchiani nell’impegno per lo sviluppo e la crescita di tutto il territorio parrocchiale. In the evening of July 21^st, 2022, parish priest Fr. Lucas Marandi s.x. was bestowed the title of Cidadão Honorário, Filho da Terra (Honorary Citizen, Son of Our Land) in the basement of his church under construction.

This award represents a token of gratitude towards the Xaverian missionaries who have been working in Hortolândia for 30 years: at first, in the great parish of Nossa Senhora Aparecida; then – after that parish was divided to form other communities in 2015 –, in the new parish of St Guido Maria Conforti. As its first parish priest, Fr. Luca Marandi not only devoted all his energies and enlightened zeal to the work of evangelisation, but also engaged all parishioners in the effort to develop and foster the growth of the entire territory of the parish.
