Come Missionari Saveriani dell’Indonesia (32 sacerdoti, 1 fratello e 15 studenti) ci siamo riuniti a Jakarta (20-23 gennaio 2020) per l’Assemblea Regionale. Il tema dell’Assemblea era: “Le sfide e le opportunità per l’evangelizzazione nel cuore delle differenze culturali, etniche e religiose dell’Indonesia”. Per l’occasione è stato invitato Mons. Antonius Subiyanto Bunyamin OSC, vescovo della diocesi di Bandung, che ha predicato il ritiro spirituale, favorendo la comprensione di alcune sfide che stiamo affrontando come Chiesa, ma anche delle opportunità per l’evangelizzazione.

Successivamente siamo passati ad affrontare i temi principali: (1) il lavoro pastorale e la missione ad gentes; (2) la ristrutturazione delle parrocchie per i prossimi 5-10 anni; (3) la collaborazione con i laici; (4) l’autosostentamento economico.

Le varie riflessioni e raccomandazioni saranno portate al Capitolo Regionale che si terrà nel prossimo mese di aprile.

The Xaverian Missionaries in Indonesia (32 priests, 1 brother and 15 students) gathered in Jakarta (20-23 January 2020) for their Regional Assembly. The theme of the Assembly was " The Challenges and Opportunities for Evangelization in the midst of the cultural, ethnic and religious diversities in Indonesia". Invited for the occasion, Mgr Antonius Subiyanto Bunyamin, OSC, the bishop of the Diocese of Bandung preached us the recollection during which he helped us to understand some of the challenges that we are facing as Church but also the opportunities for evangelization.

We then proceeded on reflecting on four main topics' namely: (1) the pastoral work and mission ad gentes, (2) the restructuration of our parishes for the coming 5-10 years, (3) the collaboration with the laity, and (4) financial self-sufficiency.

The various reflections and recommendations will be brought to the Regional Chapter scheduled this year in April.
