L'attuale situazione in Indonesia, riguardo al Covid 19, sta peggiorando, soprattutto nell’isola di Giava. Sulla base delle informazioni ufficiali, c'è stato un aumento molto significativo del numero di persone infette dal coronavirus. Attualmente l'Indonesia è al primo posto nel mondo per numero di persone contagiate dal virus: ogni giorno, più di 50mila, sorpassando l'India e diventando così il nuovo cluster in Asia.

Questa situazione è stata causata dalla variante Delta, proveniente dall'India, che ha iniziato a diffondersi all'inizio di luglio ed è stata aggravata dalla celebrazione religiosa dell'Eid al-Fitr con le sue grandi folle. La situazione può peggiorare molto se le persone non stanno attente. Tragicamente, questa crescita si è verificata proprio dopo che la vaccinazione è stata effettuata su vasta scala in varie regioni. Il governo ha preso forti provvedimenti, restringendo le possibilità di viaggio, regolamentando l'apertura e la chiusura di negozi e centri commerciali.
