Il 2 luglio prossimo accoglieremo Papa Francesco nella nostra città. Andrà anche a Goma e in Sud Sudan. Ma il suo viaggio sta già lasciando un grande messaggio di pace, riconciliazione e verità per tutto il nostro Continente. Le parrocchie, comunità religiose e movimenti ecclesiali sono stati invitati ad accompagnare i preparativi nella preghiera e con un contributo materiale per realizzare lo scopo della visita riassunto nello slogan già appeso in grandi manifesti nelle arterie principali della città: “tutti riconciliati in Gesù Cristo”. É stata una delle intenzioni principali della veglia di preghiera del 4-5 giugno nella chiesa della nostra parrocchia di San Bernardo dove circa 200 persone hanno pregato con molto fervore tutta la notte alla vigilia della Pentecoste. I 10 novizi inizieranno il 19 giugno gli esercizi spirituali di preparazione alla prima professione religiosa missionaria, che avrà luogo nella parrocchia San Bernardo il 29 giugno.Qualcuno scherzosamente ha battezzato quest’anno di noviziato come “le noviciat de la palissade” (il noviziato della ringhiera), in cui i novizi, a turno, hanno fatto da sentinelle “oranti” durante il cantiere e hanno contribuito a salvaguardare la bellezza dell’ambiente circostante. On July 2^nd, we will welcome Pope Francis in our city. He will also visit Goma and South Sudan. His trip is already delivering a great message of peace, reconciliation and truth for our entire Continent. Parishes, religious communities and ecclesial movements have been invited to accompany the preparations with prayer and material contributions to the realisation of the visit aim which has been summarised through a motto on huge posters hanging along the main streets of the city: “All reconciled in Jesus Christ.” This has been one of the central intentions of the vigil of prayer held on June 4^th-5^th in the church of our St Bernard Parish, where about 200 people prayed fervently during the entire night of Pentecost. On June 19^th, our ten novices are going to start the spiritual exercises in preparation for their first religious and missionary profession that will take place in the same St Bernard Parish on June 29^th. Someone has humorously called this year of novitiate “le noviciat de la palissade” (noviciate of the palisade), for during this year novices took turns to stand guard “in prayer” over the building site and contribute to the preservation of the beauty of the environment around. (Faustino Turco s.x.)
