L'arcidiocesi cattolica di Osaka ha celebrato la settimana di preghiera per l'unità dei cristiani 2022 con tre veglie diocesane organizzate congiuntamente insieme ai rappresentanti delle principali denominazioni cristiane presenti sul territorio, sotto la direzione di padre Rocco Viviano sx, direttore dell’ufficio arcidiocesano per l’ecumenismo. L'evento si è tenuto annualmente dal 2018, ma fu sospeso nel 2021 a causa della pandemia. Poiché l'arcidiocesi copre un territorio molto vasto, i tre eventi si svolgono in tre zone diverse per facilitare la partecipazione dei fedeli e promuovere le relazioni ecumeniche a livello di zona. Ciascuna veglia è presieduta congiuntamente dai rappresentanti delle varie denominazioni. Per la Chiesa cattolica, è presente l'arcivescovo Card Maeda oppure il vescovo ausiliario mons. Sakai.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Osaka marked the 2022 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with the celebration of three prayer services jointly organised with representatives of the major Christian Churches present in the territory, under the direction of Fr Rocco Viviano in his role as director of the Archdiocesan Office for Ecumenism. The events have been held yearly since 2018, except in 2021 due to the pandemic. As the archdiocese covers a very large territory, the services are held in three different areas to facilitate the participation of the faithful and foster ecumenical relationships at the local level. Each event is jointly led by representatives of each denomination. The Catholic Church is represented either by the Archbishop Card Maeda or his auxiliary Bishop Sakai.
