Sabato 5 Ottobre si è tenuto nella comunità della Teologia di Manila un workshop sulla protezione dei minori guidato da un esperto, Robert Samson, uno psicologo filippino che ha lavorato per diversi anni in questo campo in Irlanda. Si è parlato dei possibili abusi, di come prevenirli, come evitare comportamenti che potrebbero creare situazioni pericolose, oltre all'obbligo di intervenire in modo adeguato quando si viene al corrente di situazioni (spesso all'interno della stessa famiglia) che mettono in pericolo il minore che partecipa alle attività di apostolato. La comunità aveva già partecipato allo stesso workshop l'anno scorso, ma l'impressione è che ultimamente sia cresciuta la consapevolezza della nostra responsabilità nei confronti dei minori che incontriamo nel lavoro pastorale.

Mr. Robert Samson, a psychologist from the Philippines, who has worked for various years in Ireland on the area of protection for minors, has given a workshop to our Xaverian Theology Students in Manila.  We dealt with the possibility of abuses, how to prevent them, how to avoid behaviors which could lead to dangerous situations, the obligation to intervene in adequate ways and forms whenever we come to know of them, often within the sane family. It could happen also whenever minors participate in our various pastoral activities.   The whole community had already participated last year in the same workshop.  We are aware that, lately, there is greater awareness among ourselves of our responsibility for the welfare of the minors, whom we encounter in our pastoral work and ministry.
