Lunedì 29 settembre 2025, nella comunità di Viale Vaticano 40, Roma, si sono riunite le Direzioni Generali dei Missionari Saveriani e delle Missionarie di Maria - Saveriane.

Vari erano i temi all’ordine del giorno. Dopo un momento di preghiera, si è iniziato con un aggiornamento sul lavoro della Commissione che tratta della Famiglia carismatica Saveriana. Nella convinzione della bellezza e necessità di un cammino insieme, per i vari gruppi che si ispirano al carisma di San Guido Maria Conforti, i membri delle rispettive Direzioni generali si sono impegnati ad animare confratelli, consorelle e laici, particolarmente durante le loro visite ufficiali.

Sono seguiti degli scambi sul Convegno che si terrà in giugno 2026, a Parma, sul Volto umano del Saveriano e sull'Anno della Saverianità. 

Ci si è soffermati poi sulla preoccupante situazione della zona est della R. D. del Congo, evidenziandone, in particolare, le conseguenze sui giovani e le giovani in formazione.  Tra gli altri aspetti, si sono sottolineate le difficoltà per il loro trasferimento in altre Circoscrizioni, data la complessa situazione amministrativa attuale.

Infine, le Missionarie di Maria hanno condiviso la riflessione avviata all'ultima Conferenza intercapitolare (Parma, ottobre 2024) circa l’avviare ricerche per una eventuale nuova apertura in Asia, chiedendo un parere, a partire dall’esperienza dei Missionari Saveriani, sulle possibilità presenti in questo continente.

Le due Direzioni generali si sono impegnate a incontrarsi a frequenza annuale, con l'intento di crescere nella fraternità e nella collaborazione. (Giordana Bertacchini mmx)

On Monday, 29 September 2025, the General Directions of the Xaverian Missionaries and the Missionaries of Mary the Missionary of Mary – Xaverian Sisters met in the community of Viale Vaticano 40, Rome.

There were various items on the agenda. After a moment of prayer, the meeting began with an update on the work of the Commission dealing with the Xaverian Charismatic Family. Convinced of the beauty and necessity of walking together, the members of the respective General Directions committed themselves to animating their confreres, sisters and lay people, especially during their official visits.

This was followed by an exchange on the Conference to be held in June 2026, in Parma, on the Human Face of the Xaverian and on the Year of the Xaverian spirit. 

Attention then turned to the troubling situation in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, highlighting in particular the consequences for young men and women in formation. Among other aspects, the difficulties of transferring them to other Circumscriptions were emphasised, given the current complex administrative situation.

Finally, the Missionaries of Mary – Xaverian sisters shared the reflection begun in the last Intercapitular Conference (Parma, October 2024) about initiating research for a possible new opening in Asia, asking for an opinion, based on the experience of the Xaverian Missionaries, on the possibilities present in this continent.
