Dal 7 all'11 giugno una ventina di studenti di Gioventù Studentesca di Forlì e Lugo si sono trovati a San Pietro in Vincoli per preparare l'esame di maturità. Hanno deciso di studiare insieme per vincere l'ansia, essere spronati nei momenti di fatica, comunicarsi le scoperte e sperimentare che tutto, anche l'esame, non è estraneo alla proposta della compagnia cristiana vissuta durante l'anno.

Passeggiando per il parco all'ombra di grandi alberi, accompagnati dal ronzio del tagliaerba, si sentiva risuonare "allora i carboidrati sono..." o "dunque, i poeti maledetti..." o ancora "l'energia cinetica di una molla...”. Studio intenso durante il giorno, poi a sera giochi, canti e incontri!

Una sera sono stati invitati alcuni professionisti un medico, un'infermiera, un ricercatore di fisica sperimentale, una maestra ed un designer; a tutti loro è stata posta una prima domanda: "qual è l'utilità per il mondo e per la Chiesa del tuo lavoro?" ed è stato impressionante accorgersi che, indipendentemente dalla professione svolta, l'utilità non è riposta nel successo, ma nell'esperienza di crescita in umanità, stupore e conoscenza di sé. Questa crescita, nel tempo, cambia i luoghi di lavoro e quindi il mondo.

In un altro momento sono stati interpellati i padri residenti nella Casa per capire di più cosa significasse essere missionari; i loro racconti, a volte avventurosi, hanno suscitato stupore e "sana invidia" per vite prese in toto da Cristo capaci di valorizzare ed accompagnare culture diverse.

Poi giochi, birra e grande cantata sotto le stelle. Il clima di questa convivenza è stato facilitato dalla fraternità con cui i Padri Saveriani ospitano e dall'ottima cucina. Si pongono a servizio e non sono spettatori estranei o albergatori, è stato immediato infatti percepire che stavano "facendo il tifo" per il nostro passaggio alla fase più adulta. Grazie! From June 7^th to 11^th, about twenty students of the Student Youth League (Gioventù Studentesca) from Forlì and Lugo gathered in San Pietro in Vincoli to prepare for the high school exit exam (matura). They have decided to study together to overcome anxiety, spur each other on in moments of fatigue, share discoveries and experience that nothing, not even the exam, is stranger to the proposal of Christian companionship they live during the year. While strolling through the park, under the shadow of tall trees and to the accompaniment of buzzing lawn mowers, one could here resounding: “so the carbohydrates are…”, or “therefore, the poètes maudits…”, or again “the kinetic energy of a spring…”. During the days, there was intense study; then, in the evenings, games, songs and meetings!

One evening, some professionals – a physician, a nurse, a researcher of experimental physics, a schoolteacher, and a designer – were invited. The first question that all of them were asked was: “What is the usefulness of your job for the world and for the Church?” It has been remarkable to find out that it doesn’t matter what kind of work one does, in all cases its usefulness doesn’t rest on success but on the experience of human growth, on amazement and self-knowledge. Such growth transforms the workplaces over time and, therefore, changes the world too.

In a different moment, the fathers that reside in the House were interviewed in order to understand better what being missionary means. Their stories, sometime full of adventures, were met with astonishment and “holy envy” of lives totally taken by Christ – lives that were able to value and accompany different cultures. Then games, bier, and loud songs under the starry night.

The atmosphere of this period spent together has been facilitated by the brotherly welcome of the Xaverian Fathers and the excellent cuisine. They placed themselves at the service, not like alien spectators or hotelkeepers. In fact, we immediately perceived that they were “rooting for us” during this passage to adulthood.
