Novanta anni e con lo sguardo al futuro. È in questo spirito che, sabato 24 settembre 2022, abbiamo celebrato il 90° anniversario della presenza dei Missionari Saveriani a San Pietro in Vincoli, nel cuore della Romagna.

P. Fernando García Rodríguez sx, Superiore Generale, ha presieduto l’Eucaristia. Hanno concelebrato i membri della comunità. Erano presenti gli studenti saveriani del Teologato Internazionale di Parma. Hanno animato la celebrazione, dando un tocco di gioventù alla famiglia saveriana. Coi numerosi parenti e gli amici intervenuti alla festa di ringraziamento e fraternità, dopo l'Eucaristia, abbiamo preso parte al delizioso rinfresco preparato dalle nostre cuoche.

Dopo il prolungato periodo della pandemia da Covid 19 sono riprese le attività e gli incontri con lo sguardo rivolto al futuro. Invochiamo insieme dal Signore la sapienza di cui parla il libro del Qoèlet: "Il saggio ha gli occhi in fronte" (2,14).

Domenica 25 settembre p. Fernando García Rodríguez s.x. è rimasto a San Pietro in Vincoli per la visita canonica alla comunità, insieme al Vicario Generale, p. Mario Carmelo Mula. A sorpresa, durante il nostro incontro di comunità, ci ha fatto visita l'Arcivescovo di Ravenna, Lorenzo Ghizzoni, che ha espresso il suo apprezzamento per il lavoro e la testimonianza dei confratelli in Romagna. Ha raccontato anche il lavoro che si svolge a Ravenna per la comunità della diaspora cinese. Il legame con il suo predecessore San Guido Conforti è vivo. (+ Giorgio Biguzzi sx)

Ninety years and our eyes fixed on the future. With this spirit, on September 24^th, 2022, we celebrated the 90^th anniversary of the Xaverian Missionaries’ presence in San Pietro in Vincoli, at the heart of the Romagna Region. The Superior General, Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez s.x., presided over the Eucharistic celebration, while the members of the community concelebrated. In attendance were also the Xaverian students from the International Theologate in Parma. They enriched the celebration by giving the Xaverian family a touch of youth. After Mass, we shared with the numerous relatives and friends that took part in the celebration a delicious buffet lunch prepared by our cooks. 

Following the long period of Covid-19 pandemic, we have resumed activities and meetings with our eyes fixed on the future. We invoke together the Lord to grant us the wisdom which the book of Ecclesiastes speaks about: “The wise man's eyes are in his head” (2:14).

On Sunday, September 25^th, Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez s.x., along with Vicar General Fr. Mario Carmelo Mula s.x., remained in San Pietro in Vincoli for the canonical visitation to the community. During our meeting, the Archbishop of Ravenna, Lorenzo Ghizzoni, made a surprise visit to the community. He expressed appreciation for the work and witness given by the confreres in Romagna. Moreover, he described the work being done for the Chinese diaspora in Ravenna. The tie between his predecessor St Guido M. Conforti and him is much alive. (+ Giorgio Biguzzi s.x.)
