Come tutti sappiamo, anche le Filippine sono vittime della pandemia del Covid 19. Al fine di contrastare il contagio del virus, il governo, dal 17 marzo, ha applicato una specie di lockdown che qui chiamano "forzata quarantena di quartiere". Se non verrà prolungato, si concluderà il 30 aprile 2020. In questa emergenza, non è un compito facile per il governo filippino procurare cibo per tutti, in quanto il bisogno è molto più grande di quello che possono fare.

Anche la nostra parrocchia sta lavorando su questo. Abbiamo utilizzato il fondo di beneficenza parrocchiale per aiutare i bisognosi della nostra parrocchia. Per continuare il nostro lavoro, la Caritas diocesana (Novaliches), ci ha aiutato con 2 milioni di pesos da distribuire alle famiglie più povere come buoni spesa. Tutti sono stati distribuiti dai leader delle nostre aree pastorali. Ci impegniamo a continuare ad aiutare questi nostri fratelli e sorelle indigenti, in base alle nostre capacità.

As we all know, The Philippines too are a country victim of the Covid 19 pandemic. In order to prevent the contagion, the government, since March 17, have applied a kind of lockdown which they call "enhanced community quarantine". It will end on April 30, 2020, if they will not extend it again. In this emergency, it is not an easy task for the Philippine government to provide food for all, as the need is much greater than what it can do. They encourage communities to help each other.

Likewise, our Parish has been working on this problem. We have used the money of our Charity and relief goods Fund to help the needy in our parish. In order to support our work, CARITAS (of the Diocese of Novaliches) has helped us with 2 million pesos to be distributed to the neediest through gift certificates and relief goods. All of them have been distributed by our pastoral area leaders. Moreover, we are committed to continuing to help these indigent brothers and sisters of ours, according to our possibilities.
