Venerdì 5 novembre vivremo la celebrazione del nostro Santo Fondatore, Guido Maria Conforti, con la rinnovazione dei voti di 11 professi. È un momento che viviamo in spirito di famiglia e di ringraziamento per il dono della vita del nostro Fondatore, per il suo carisma e per la sua esemplarità di vita. È un momento che coincide con l’appuntamento di tutti i saveriani che lavorano in Camerun ed è un momento che vivremo qui a Yaoundé ricordando: i 40 anni di presenza saveriana in Camerun, i 90 anni dalla nascita al cielo di Conforti.

In preparazione a questa celebrazione, come comunità, faremo un ritiro spirituale il giorno 01 novembre con l’animazione del padre regionale, Antonio López. Sarà un momento per riscoprire la prospettiva dell’uomo e del cristiano nella persona e negli insegnamenti di Conforti, con una speciale sottolineatura sulla dimensione della consacrazione religiosa. Dal 02 al 04 novembre saremo riuniti in assemblea – in preparazione al prossimo capitolo – con i confratelli di Douala e di Bafoussam. All’ordine del giorno, condivideremo sull’eredità e sulle prospettive di questi 40 anni di presenza, sulla sfida di riposizionamento, sui temi e sulle priorità del capitolo e sui progetti comunitari per quest’anno. Friday, November 5^th, we will celebrate the memory of our holy founder, Guido Maria Conforti, with the renewal of the vows by 11 confreres. We will live this celebration in a family spirit and by giving thanks for the life of our Founder, his charism and the example of his life. That same day, all Xaverians working in Cameroon will gather in Yaoundé to commemorate 40 years of Xaverian presence in this country and 90 years since the death of Conforti.

To prepare for this celebration, we will hold a community spiritual retreat on November 1^st, preached by our regional superior, Fr. Antonio López. It will be an occasion for rediscovering the human and Christian dimension of both the person and teaching of Conforti, with a particular emphasis on the dimension of religious consecration. From November 2^nd to 4^th, we will gather in assembly with the confreres from Douala and Bafoussam to prepare for the next chapter. In the meeting’s agenda are: the legacy and perspectives deriving from 40 years of presence; the challenge of “repositioning”; topics and priorities to be discussed at the chapter and community projects for this year.
