Nacque in Val Trompia nel Bresciano, a Ponte Zanano di Sarezzo il 1.XII.1931. Entrò nel piccolo Cenacolo degli Apostolini sfollati da Grumone a Gromo S. Marino nell'ottobre 1943 e poi passò a Grumone per le Medie ed il Ginnasio Superiore. Completato il Noviziato a S. Pietro in Vincoli (RA), emise la prima Professione il 12.IX.1950, passando poi a Desio per il Liceo e a Piacenza per la Teologia. Prima di essere ammesso agli Ordini Maggiori ebbe un momento di dubbio nella sua idoneità: fu un ripensamento breve.
Il 31.V.1958 veniva ordinato Sacerdote nella sua Chiesa Parrocchiale, a Ponte Zanano, per le mani dei Vescovo Ausiliare di Brescia. Già da vari anni il suo carattere e la sua corporatura fisica si erano rivelati.
Scrive di lui P. Mombelli:
"P. Narciso non solo era resistente come la pietra, ma era anche un granatiere, alto e slanciato... ma i suoi occhi dolcissiini e chiari facevano comprendere come egli non amasse atteggiamenti da vichingo...; con l'espressione della faccia sembrava volesse dire: "Sono forte come il cemento armato ma, se non mi date una mano, posso cadere al suolo e fraceilarmi … Ancora da studente, durante i corsi di Liceo e Teologia, era richiesto a gara per i lavori pesanti, per trasportare armadi e spaccare legna, costruire presepi monumentali e allestire esposizioni su castelli d'acciaio. Quando un lavoro non riusciva ad andare avanti per ostacoli imprevisti, si mandava a chiamare Narciso e lo si attendeva come l'arcangelo che con un dito sposta le montagne. Egli veniva, eseguiva e taceva, abbozzando al massimo un sorriso...".
Completata la formazione fu destinato alle Case di Macomer e Cagliari. Partecipò attivamente alla costruzione delle due Case lavorando come operaio, capomastro, geometra ed economo...
Partì per il Congo il 24.VIII.1965. Anche in Missione accettò di prendere la responsabilità delle costruzioni: residenze, scuole, la chiesa di Kamituga. Un'operazione di menisco al ginocchio destro lo obbligò a rientrare in Italia per alcuni mesi; quindi di nuovo in Africa, responsabile di tutti i lavori di costruzione dell'altopiano di Urega.
Quel giorno, il 10.11.1970, il piccolo aereo sul quale avevano preso posto lui, P. L. Simoncelli ed il pilota Fr. Pirani, era stracarico di materiale edile che egli aveva prelevato la mattina a Bukavu. La tempesta nella quale il velivolo si inoltrò li fece precipitare tragicamente sui monti di Walungu: ... il Signore desiderava per sé questo vigoroso missionario costruttore.

Fr. Narciso Guerini died in a small airplane accident in the mountains near Walungu (Congo), together with Xaverians Fr. L. Simoncelli and Br. Pirani, on Feb. 10 1970. He was 38 years old, born at Ponte Zanano di Sarezzo (Brescia) on Dec. 1 1931.
He entered the Xaverians in the community of Grumone who was refugee at Gromo S. Marino during World War II, on Oct. 1943. From there, he continued his studies at Grumone and began Novitiate at S. Pietro in Vincoli (Ravenna), where he professed religious vows on Sept. 12 1950. He then studied at Desio for the Liceo and Theology at Piacenza. He also spent a brief period of life discerning his vocation, right before receiving Major Orders.
The Auxiliary Bishop of Brescia ordained Fr. Narciso Guerini on May 31 1958 at his own native parish at Ponte Zanano. Since his student days, Fr. Narciso excelled in his robust physic and his simple character. Fr. Mombelli remembers: “Fr. Narciso was strong as a rock, tall and daring… but his sweet and clear eyes would reveal a person begging for recognition… The expression of his face seemed to say ‘I’m strong as a framed cement bridge, but please give me a hand, or else I will fall and break into pieces.’
…During his study days, he was usually asked to help with the heaviest of works, such as moving furniture, wood splitting, build monumental nativity scenes, or install shows on metal frames. When the job would not succeed for various reasons, we would call on Narciso, and wait for him as if he was a guardian angel able to move mountains with his finger. He would show up, do the job quietly, and we would barely get a smile out of him.”
After ordination, Fr. Narciso was assigned to Macomer and Cagliari, where he worked for about 7 years, helping in the field of construction around the house as foreman, architect, worker, and Treasurer.
He departed for Congo on Aug. 24 1965, and even there he continued his service as the one in charge of buildings and constructions: Xaverian residences, schools, and the church of Kamituga. He spent a few months in Italy because of knee operation, but then returned to Congo to work in the plains of Urega until the day of his death.
On that Feb. 10 1970, he had finished loading a small plane, piloted by Br. Pirani, with construction material taken in the morning at Bukavu. The plane was overloaded, and they went through bad weather and a deadly storm that took the life of Br. Pirani, Fr. L. Simoncelli, and Fr. Guerini. They were found on the mountain near Walungu. May the Lord welcome home this handsome missionary builder.

Missionnaire au Congo, mort tragiquement dans un crash aérien avec les confrères Pirani et Simoncelli.
Il naquit le premier décembre 1931 à Ponte Zanano, dans la Commune de Sarezzo, un village situé dans la vallée Trompia, en province de Brescia, au nord de l’Italie. Il entra chez les xavériens à l’âge de 12 ans à Gromo S. Marino, lieu d’accueil des aspirants xavériens pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale. Au terme du Noviciat à San Pietro in Vincoli (Ravenne), il fit ses premiers vœux le 12 septembre 1950. Au cours de ses études de théologie, à Piacenza, il eut un moment de crise vocationnelle. Cela ne dura que quelques semaines et lui permit de solidifier la conviction de l’appel de Dieu en lui.
Il fut ordonné prêtre le 31 mai 1958 dans l’église paroissiale de son village natal. Pendant les années de formation, le père Mombelli décrit ainsi le caractère du père Narciso :
Il était solide comme un rocher, un homme d’une carrure de combattant. Il était souple et grand de taille. Mais ses yeux très doux laissaient transparaître sa bonté. Il n’avait pas du tout l’air d’un violent qui se plaît à intimider les autres. Avec l’expression de son visage, il paraissait dire : Oui, je suis fort comme le béton armé mais, si vous ne me donnez pas un coup de main, je peux tomber par terre et me casser la figure !
Etant encore étudiant, on le cherchait pour les travaux les plus lourds, pour transporter des armoires, pour fendre du bois, pour construire des crèches gigantesques et faire des expositions sur des échafaudages en acier. Quand un travail restait inachevé à cause d’imprévus, ses confrères faisaient souvent recours à Narciso en l’attendant comme l’ange qui d’un doigt déplace les montagnes ! Il arrivait alors sur place, se taisait, et travaillait en faisant tout au plus un sourire…
Au terme de sa formation initiale, il fut affecté à Macomer et à Cagliari. Il collabora à la construction des deux maisons xavériennes, en travaillant comme ouvrier, chef de chantier, géomètre et économe…
Il partit au Congo le 24 août 1965. Même en mission, il accepta d’assumer la responsabilité des constructions : maisons, écoles et la grande église paroissiale de Kamituga (Uvira). Une intervention au ménisque du genou droit l’obligera à des soins médicaux en Italie durant plusieurs mois ; puis le voilà encore en Afrique, prêt à surveiller les chantiers des confrères en Urega (Uvira).
Ce jour-là, le 10 février 1970, l’avion « petit porteur » à bord duquel il voyageait avec le pilote, frère Pirani et le père Simoncelli, était surchargé de matériaux de constructions que le père Narciso avait commandé à Bukavu. La mauvaise météo bouleversa le petit porteur surchargé et provoqua un crash dans les montagnes de Walungu (Bukavu)…
Il avait 32 ans. Le Seigneur souhaitait avoir près de lui ce vigoureux missionnaire constructeur.
