1946 - 2023
Domenica 15 ottobre 2023, alle ore 6.00 circa, è deceduto presso l’Ospedale di Parma, il nostro confratello p. Pierluigi Felotti. Aveva 76 anni, essendo nato il 28 dicembre 1946 a Calcinate, Bergamo.
Trasferitosi a Limbiate, dopo le elementari, il giovane Pierluigi comincia a lavorare come tipografo. Durante il Servizio Militare ottiene la qualifica di “Aiuto specializzato telescriventista” presso la Scuola Specializzati Trasmissioni dell’Esercito Italiano.
Rientrato alla “vita civile”, ed avendo conosciuto l’esempio di vita di alcuni Saveriani e l’amicizia del parroco con gli stessi missionari Saveriani, nel 1968 Pierluigi entra nella casa saveriana di Desio. Qui ottiene, come privatista, la licenza delle Scuole Medie Inferiori e la idoneità per i primi anni delle Scuole Magistrali (Seregno-Milano). A Monza frequenta gli ultimi anni delle Magistrali, ottenendo il Diploma di Maturità Magistrale (1973). In questo stesso anno ottiene il Diploma di Abilitazione all’Insegnamento della Religione nell’Archidiocesi di Milano. Dal 1973 al 1975 è a Parma per lo studio della Teologia.
Nel 1975 Pierluigi va a Tavernerio per vivere l’anno di Noviziato: Dopo la prima Professione Religiosa e Missionaria (emessa il 1° settembre 1976) ritorna a Parma per concludere la formazione teologica (1976-1979).
Viene ordinato presbitero a Parma il 24 settembre 1978.
Finiti gli studi di teologia, p. Pierluigi viene destinato al Bangladesh. Dopo un anno di studio della lingua inglese a Chicago, USA (1979-1980) dove emette la Professione Perpetua e un anno di studio della lingua bengalese a Barisal (1980-1981), è impegnato come Direttore della Scuola di Arte e Mestieri a Khulna e Direttore Spirituale nel Seminario della medesima città. Dal 1982 al 1984 è anche rettore della Casa Regionale di Khulna.
Nel 1987 ritorna definitivamente nella circoscrizione italiana. Per 10 anni (1987-1997) lavora ad Alzano Lombardo ricoprendo vari incarichi: Animatore missionario, Economo locale, vicerettore, rettore, sostituto del rettore. In questo periodo frequenta, a Bergamo, per due anni, dei corsi di Psicologia Educativa Dinamica.
Dal 1997 al 2002 p. Pierluigi è a Taranto come Animatore missionario e rettore. Dal 2002 al 2006 lavora a Gallico, Reggio Calabria, come Animatore missionario, rettore e responsabile del Santuario.
Dal 2004 al 2008 p. Pierluigi è membro del Consiglio Regionale dell’Italia. Dal 2006 al 2009 è a Macomer, Nuoro, Sardegna, come Animatore missionario e rettore.
Dal 2009 al 2012 svolge la sua attività a Cremona come Rettore ed economo locale. Dal 2012 al 2015 ritorna a Gallico, Reggio Calabria, come rettore, animatore missionario ed economo locale.
Dopo un anno trascorso a Taranto come sostituto del rettore ed economo locale (2015-2016), p. Pierluigi viene destinato a Brescia – CSAM come rettore (2016-2019).
Nel 2019 p. Pierluigi va a Parma, Casa Madre, dove è impegnato in vari servizi regionali e nel ministero.
“…ritengo la Professione Perpetua il passo decisivo della mia vita nell’immediata vigilia del mio diretto apostolato missionario. Da quasi dodici anni vivo in seno alla Famiglia Saveriana. In questo tempo ho potuto sperimentare la vicinanza del Signore, soprattutto visibilmente, per mezzo della santità di alcuni nostri confratelli. Certamente, con la professione dei Consigli evangelici, Dio ci ha chiamato a portare a compimento più intimamente e comunitariamente la Passione-Morte-Risurrezione del Cristo per la salvezza di ogni persona. Gioiosamente accetto questo dono-missione che mi fa partecipe dell’amore redentore di Cristo... In questi anni non mi sono mancati gli incontri con i confratelli di ritorno dalle missioni o in vacanza. Da questi dialoghi ho potuto scoprire la generosa e comunitaria dedizione che anima la nostra Famiglia nell’essere testimone del Cristo. Anche i confratelli impegnati nell’animazione missionaria e nella formazione hanno lasciato e lasciano in me un senso di ammirazione e di ringraziamento. Mi presento alla Famiglia Saveriana con la mia miseria di peccatore che penso riscattata da una grande fiducia nella comunità, dalla gioia della consacrazione a Dio; e credo, con la capacità di ascoltare ed accogliere il fratello così com’è; disponibile, inoltre, a quegli incarichi ed uffici che i Superiori riterranno utili per la Famiglia Saveriana e per me a gloria di Dio…” (Domanda rivolta al Superiore Generale, Chicago U.S.A., 05.09.1979).
All’alba di domenica 15 ottobre 2023, p. Pierluigi sale in Cielo per contemplare la Gloria del Cristo Risorto e partecipare della Vita Eterna.

On Sunday, October 15th, 2023, around 6:00 a.m., our 76-year-old confrere Fr. Pierluigi Felotti passed away in the Hospital of Parma (Italy). He was born on December 28th, 1946, in Calcinate, Bergamo (Italy), but his family soon moved to Limbiate.
After graduating from elementary school, young Pierluigi began working as typographer. During military service he obtained the certificate of “Specialized Assistant Teletypewriter” at the Scuola Specializzati Trasmissioni of the Italian Army.
Once back to “civil life”, he saw the examples of some Xaverians, and came to know of his parish priest’s friendship with the Xaverian Missionaries. These facts led Pierluigi to enter the Xaverian house in Desio in 1968. In Desio, as a private student, he obtained the diploma of Middle School and the eligibility to be exempted from attending the first years of Teacher Training School (scuole magistrali, Seregno-Milan). In Monza he attended the last years of the Teacher Training School and obtained a High School Diploma in Education (Diploma di Maturità Magistrale, 1973). In that same year he also received the Diploma of Religious Teaching Qualification from the Archdiocese of Milan. From 1973 to 1975 he studied Theology in Parma.
In 1975, Pierluigi moved to Tavernerio for the year of novitiate. After the first religious missionary profession (September 1st, 1976), he returned to Parma to complete his theological training (1976-1979).
He was ordained priest in Parma, on September 24h, 1978.
Upon completing his theological studies, Fr. Pierluigi was assigned to Bangladesh. He studied English for one year in Chicago, USA (1979-1980) where he made his perpetual Profession, then one year of Bengali in Barisal (1980-1981). He became Director of the School of Arts and Crafts of Khulna and Spiritual Director of the Seminary in that same city. From 1982 to 1984, he served as Rector of the Regional House in Khulna.
In 1987, he returned to the Italian Circumscription for good. He worked for 10 years (1987-1997) in Alzano Lombardo (Bergamo) where he carried out various tasks: Mission Awareness Promoter, local Treasurer, Vice-Rector, Rector, deputy Rector. In that period, for two years he took courses of Dynamic Educational Psychology in Bergamo.
From 1997 to 2002, Fr. Pierluigi was in Taranto, serving as Mission Awareness Promoter and Rector. From 2002 to 2006, he worked in Gallico, Reggio Calabria, as Mission Awareness Promoter, Rector and in charge of the Shrine. From 2004 to 2008, Fr. Pierluigi was also a member of the Regional Council of Italy.
From 2006 to 2009, he worked as Mission Awareness Promoter and Rector of the community in Macomer, Nuoro (Sardinia, Italy). From 2009 to 2012, he served as Rector and local Treasurer in Cremona. From 2012 to 2015, he was back in Gallico, Reggio Calabria, as Rector, Mission Awareness Promoter, and local Treasurer.
After one year in Taranto as deputy Rector and local Treasurer (2015-2016), Fr. Pierluigi was assigned to Brescia, as Rector of CSAM (2016-2019).
In 2019, Fr. Pierluigi moved to Parma, Mother House, where he carried out several services for the Region and pastoral ministry.
“On the eve of my direct involvement in missionary apostolate, I consider Perpetual Profession as the decisive step in my life. I have been living within the Xaverian Family for almost twelve years. Throughout this time, I could experience the Lord’s closeness, especially visibly in the sanctity of some of our brothers. Certainly, with the profession of the Evangelical Counsels, God has called us to carry out the Passion-Death-Resurrection of Christ more intimately and as a community, for the salvation of every person. I joyfully accept this gift-mission through which I share in the redeeming love of Christ... In recent years I met many times with brothers returning from missions or on holiday. In such dialogues I was able to discover the generous and common dedication that pervades our Family in her effort to bear witness to Christ. Even the confreres involved in mission awareness promotion and formation have filled and fill me with admiration and a sense of gratitude. I present myself to the Xaverian Family: with my misery as a sinner, which I think has been redeemed by great trust in the community, and by the joy of consecration to God; and, I believe, [I present myself] with the ability to listen and welcome each brother the way he is. I am available for those tasks and offices which the Superiors deem useful for the Xaverian Family and for me, to the glory of God...” (Application addressed to Superior General, Chicago U.S.A., September 5th, 1979)
On Sunday October 15th, 2023, at dawn, Fr. Pierluigi went up to Heaven to contemplate the Glory of the Risen Christ and partake in Eternal Life.
