Parma, 13 marzo 2024: il card. Pietro Parolin visita la Casa Madre Saveriana.

Attorno alle 8.30 di mercoledì 13 marzo, il cardinale Segretario di Stato Vaticano - a Parma da martedì sera per una riflessione sulla "Educazione alla Pace", offerta in Cattedrale alla collettività parmense che gremiva lo splendido ambiente - ha desiderato visitare le spoglie mortali di san Guido Maria Conforti ed i Saveriani nella loro Casa Madre.

Fatto un giro nel Santuario - sostando nella Cappella del SS.mo e della Madonna della Strada, dinnanzi alla Tomba e al Mosaico, ed al Crocifisso ispiratore del carisma missionario saveriano - il cardinale si è intrattenuto con un gruppo di confratelli del IV piano e della Casa, parlando con loro degli anni di servizio pastorale in Cina, Paese che attualmente trova impegnati in un dialogo socio-culturale lo Stato Cinese e la Santa Sede; con accenni al Museo Cinese.

L'emozionante visita - seppur breve ma intensa - si è conclusa con una preghiera dinnanzi ai volti dei 4 Confratelli Martiri nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo il 28 novembre 1964, beatificandi ad Uvira (RDC) il prossimo 18 agosto (Ermanno Ferro sx)

Parma (Italy), on Wednesday, March 13^th, 2024, Card. Pietro Parolin visited the Xaverian Mother House. The Cardinal Secretary of State of the Holy See had been in Parma since Tuesday. In the Cathedral, he shared a reflection on Peace Education with the people of the city who filled the wonderful building. On Wednesday, around 8:30 a.m., the Cardinal wished to pay homage to the mortal remains of St Guido Maria Conforti and to the Xaverians who live in the Mother House. 

After a tour of the Shrine (where he stopped in the Chapel of the Most Holy Sacrament and of Our Lady of the Way, and posed before the Tomb, the Mosaic and the Crucifix that inspired the Xaverian missionary charism), the Cardinal talked with a group of confreres belonging to the Fourth Floor and to the House. He spoke with them about the past years of Xaverian pastoral service in China – a Country  whose Government is engaged in a socio-cultural dialogue with the Holy See – and  about the Chinese Museum.

This exciting visit – a brief but intense one – ended with a prayer before the portraits of the 4 Confreres, who on November 28^th, 1964, became Martyrs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and that will be beatified on August 18^th. (Ermanno Ferro s.x.)
