Su nostra richiesta Dom Adolfo ci manda qualche notizia sul suo servizio episcopale nella diocesi del Alto Solimões: «Il mio primo mese è trascorso molto in fretta. Ho visitato le comunità della periferia de Tabatinga. Ho parteci-pato a Belém do Solimões alla chiusura dell’Incontro dei catechisti di cultura Tikuna. Dal 9 gennaio ho visitato la parrocchia di Benjamin Constant e poi sono andato per qualche giorno nella parrocchia più occidentale e più estesa (76.000 Kmq, 6 etnie di Indios, affidata a tre Suore di S. Anna). Le sfide sono tante! Sono momenti di kenosi, tutto é nuovo per me»!
BRASILE NORD
Abaetetuba, 6-12 gennaio: al Centro di Formazione Laranjal si è svolta l’Assemblea annuale della Regione sul tema “Vita fraterna e economia”. Il lavoro preparatorio era stato avviato dal Consiglio Regionale, tenendo presente i suggerimenti del Capitolo Regionale (gennaio 2014). L’interesse dell’assemblea si è appuntato soprattutto sull’età che avanza e i problemi della salute; sul rinnovamento della vita comunitaria e sulle priorità salesiane, missionarie e pastorali.
Dal 19 al 23 di gennaio a Belém si é svolto il 3 incontro del CEMLA con la presenza dei rappresentanti del Brasile Sud (PP. S. Raschietti e R. Villaseñor), Brasil Nord (PP. A. De Vidi, B. Atumissi, e J. Martinez), Colombia (P. M. Loda) e Messico (P. G. Custodio). Il tema di riflessione é stato quello dell'Animazione Missionaria e le sfide per la missione oggi e i segni dei tempi. I contributi saranno pubblicati nel 2 quaderno del CEMLA.
CAMERUN/CIAD
Dal 19 al 22 gennaio si è svolta l’Assemblea precapitolare, preceduta da quattro giorni di riflessione animati da P. F. Turco. L'Assemblea ha lavorato soprattutto all'elaborazione della Ratio Missionis Regionalis. Sono stati fatti scambi sul percorso della Regione e delle comunità e sul tema della Cosuma 2015. Trentun confratelli presenti.
BRASILE SUD
La Diocesi di Itabira Coronel Fabriciano celebra il 50° di erezione. Tra le iniziative celebrative è prevista la pubblicazione – a cura di P. G. Guarnieri - di Vocazione missionaria, un opuscolo per la catechesi dei cresimandi: un bell'esempio di come missionari ad gentes e Chiesa locale possono entrare in una sinergia costante e in un arricchimento reciproco.
SIERRA LEONE
Makeni 19-22 gennaio: Assemblea annuale, presenti P. Generale e P. E. Pulcini. Temi principali: Il cammino della Congregazione dopo il XVI Capitolo Generale; la Ratio Formationis Xaverianae come strumento per conoscere il carisma saveriano e acquisire gli atteggiamenti necessari per viverlo; l’epidemia di Ebola. Al riguardo l’Assemblea ha discusso sull’impiego degli aiuti giunti da ogni parte del mondo per l'emergenza Ebola e ha proceduto a un primo scambio sui problemi che l’epidemia lascia nel paese.
SPAGNA
A Carabanchel-Madrid si sta svolgendo il Convegno sull'Animazione Vocazionale per gli Animatori delle Circoscrizioni d'Europa + USA. Con P. Vicario e il Consigliere P. A. López sono presenti i rappresentanti di Spagna (4), United Kingdom (2), Italia (4), Stati Uniti (2), Delegazione Centrale (1). Anche in questo settore la Congregazione è chiamata a esprimere uno sforzo per "riposizionarci e ripartire dal primo annuncio".

Bishop Adolfo Zon writes: «My first month passed quickly. I visited the communities on the outskirts of Tabatinga. In Belém I took part in the conclusion of the Meeting of catechists of the Tikuna culture. Beginning 9 January, I visited the Benjamin Constant parish and then spent some days in the most western and extended parish (76.000 Kmq, 6 indigenous tribes, run by the St. Anne Sisters). The challenges are many! It is an experience of kenosi, everything is new for me »!
NORTH BRAZIL
Abaetetuba, 6-12 Jan: the Laranjal Formation Center hosted the annual Regional Assembly on “Fraternal life and finances”. The preparatory work was set in motion by the Regional Council, based on the suggestions of the Regional Chapter (Jan 2014). Attention was focused advancing age and health problems; renewal of community life and Xaverian missionary and pastoral priorities.
Belém, 19-23: the 3rd meeting of CEMLA reflected on Missionary Animation, the challenges of today’s mission and the signs of the times. The various contributions will be published in the next two CEMLA bulletins. The following Regions were represented: South Brazil (Frs. S. Raschietti, R. Villaseñor); North Brazil (Frs. A. De Vidi, B. Atumissi, J. Martinez); Colombia (Fr. M. Loda); Mexico (Fr. G. Custodio).
CAMEROON-CHAD
19-22 Jan: the pre-chapter assembly was preceded by four days of reflection animated by Fr. F. Turco. The assembly focused on the elaboration of the Ratio Missionis Regionalis, an exchange on the growth of the Region and its communities, and topics for the Cosuma 2015. 31 confreres were present; some were unable to attend.
SOUTH BRAZIL
The Itabira Coronel Fabriciano diocese is celebrating its 50th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Fr. G. Guarnieri will publish a Confirmation catechesis booklet, a good example of how missionaries ad gentes and the local Church can work together and enrich each other.
SIERRA LEONE
Makeni, Annual Assembly, 19-22 Jan: The Superior General and Fr. E. Pulcini were present. Main topics: The Congregation’s journey after the XVI General Chapter; the Ratio Formationis Xaverianae as an instrument for knowing the Xaverian charism and cultivating the necessary attitudes for living it out; the Ebola epidemic. The Assembly also exchanged ideas on how to manage in the best possible way the abundant financial resources they received from all over the world for the Ebola emergency and held an initial exchange on the problems it is leaving in its wake.
SPAIN
The Meeting for Vocation Animators of Europe and the United States of America is underway in Madrid. The following confreres are taking part: the Vicar General, Fr. A. López and representatives from Spain (4), the United Kingdom (2), Italy (4), the United States of America (2) and the Central Delegation (1). In this sector too the Congregation is being called to make an effort to "begin again from the First proclamation".
