ROMA DIREZIONE GENERALE
Il 2 febbraio è iniziato il Consiglio Generale, che durerà fino al 28 febbraio. Si sono già presi in considerazione, particolarmente i seguenti temi: L’Anno della Vita Consacrata nelle nostre Circoscrizioni, il Convegno Missionario della Chiesa Italiana, e altre questioni riguardanti il personale nelle Circoscrizioni.
CONVEGNO ANIMAZIONE VOCAZIONALE
L’ultima Breaking news (31.1) da Madrid sottolinea la rilevante diversità dell’attuale Convegno rispetto ai precedenti. Il mondo giovanile è profondamente diverso: «L’utilizzo del web e dei social network ha completamente stravolto il modo di comunicare. La crisi economica, in Europa e negli USA, ha colpito particolarmente i giovani. Le Circoscrizioni non hanno più candidati e il numero degli animatori si è dimezzato». Ma la speranza è ancora viva: «Il seme del Regno ha una potenza in sè che non dipende da chi semina; potenza che lo fa capace di diventare albero! A noi, operai della vigna, tocca preparare il terreno... È quello che si vuol fare con l’Animazione Vocazionale».
ITALIA
Parma: il 25 gennaio, a conclusione della Settimana di Preghiera per l’Unità dei Cristiani, la Casa Madre ha ospitato l’evento “Decennale del Consiglio delle Chiese Cristiane di Parma (2004-2014)”. Presenti il sindaco e il prefetto della città, oltre che molti cristiani delle varie Chiese e saveriani (e saveriane) protagonisti nella creazione e nello sviluppo dell’organismo ecumenico. P. Mario Menin, tra i fondatori del Consiglio, ha definito l’istituto saveriano come “la casa dell’ecumenismo e del dialogo interreligioso” a Parma, anche perché sede storica del SAE (Segretariato Attività Ecumeniche), oltre che del Consiglio delle Chiese, del Coro ecumenico e del Forum interreligioso di Parma.
BURUNDI
Bujumbura, domenica 1 febbraio: nella Parrocchia S. Guido Conforti a Kamenge è stata celebrata la giornata della Vita Consacrata. Erano presenti oltre 500 tra religiosi e religiose, i Saveriani residenti nella capitale, le sorelle Jeanette e Delia venute dalla vicina RDC e una folla immensa di fedeli.
L’Arcivescovo Mons. Ngoyagoye ha dettato il Ritiro d’inizio, ricordando le sorelle Olga, Lucia e Bernardetta, esempio di donazione totale da ricordare nell’anno dedicato alla Vita Consacrata. Le offerte raccolte sono state devolute ai poveri e agli ammalati assistiti dalle sorelle uccise.

GENERAL DIRECTION
On 2 February, a new session of the General Council began and it will last until 28 February. The following topics are on the agenda: The Year of the Consecrated Life in our Circumscriptions, the Missionary Conference of the Italian Church, and other questions concerning the personnel in the Circumscriptions.
VOCATION ANIMATION MEETING
Madrid, 31 Jan: the last Breaking news item highlighted the considerable difference between this meeting and the last ones. The world of young people today is profoundly different: «the use of internet and social networks has completely revolutionized the way in which people communicate. Europe and the USA were struck by an unexpected economic crisis and, finally, our Circumscriptions no longer have candidates and we now have half the number of animators.». But hope is still alive: «the sown seed carries an inner power that does not depend on the sower; a power that enables it to become a tree! We, the workers in the vineyard, have the task of preparing the terrain... This is what we aim to do in our Vocation Animation».
ITALY
Parma, 25 Jan: conclusion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The Mother House hosted the event “Decennale del Consiglio delle Chiese Cristiane di Parma (2004-2014)”. The town Mayor and Prefect were present, along with many Christians of the various Churches, Xaverians, Missionaries of Mary, protagonists in the creation and development of the ecumenical body. Fr. Mario Menin, who is one of the founders of the Council, defined the Xaverian Institute as “the house of ecumenism and interreligious dialogue” in Parma, also because it is the historical headquarters of the SAE (Segretariato Attività Ecumeniche), the Consiglio delle Chiese, the Coro ecumenico and the Forum interreligioso di Parma.
BURUNDI
Bujumbura, 1 Feb: the St. Guido Conforti parish of Kamenge celebrated the day of the Consecrated Life. More than 500 male and female religious were present, among them the Xaverians resident in the capital, sisters Jeanette and Delia who came from the nearby Democratic Republic of Congo, and a huge number of the faithful.
Archbishop Ngoyagoye guided the introductory Retreat and remembered Sisters Olga, Lucia and Bernardetta as an example of total self-giving that is worthy of being remembered in the year dedicated to the Consecrated Life. The offerings were given to the poor and sick people assisted by the murdered sisters.
