Il Signor Franco Ferrari è membro del comitato di redazione della nostra rivista “Missione Oggi”. Giornalista accreditato presso la Sala Stampa Vaticana durante il Sinodo. Ospite presso la comunità della casa generalizia, la sua presenza fraterna ci ha permesso di “seguire da vicino” i lavori sinodali. I pasti sono stati un momento di informazione diretta, condivisione e scambio sui temi trattati dai padri e madri sinodali. Lo ringraziamo cordialmente per averci lasciato questa nota: 

“Per una Chiesa sinodale: comunione, partecipazione, missione” è il tema del quinto sinodo convocato da papa Francesco. La prima sessione (4-29 ottobre 2023) si sta concludendo ora a Roma, la seconda si terrà nel 2024.

Nelle intenzioni del Vescovo di Roma questo Sinodo dovrebbe ridisegnare il modello di Chiesa per ridarle uno slancio missionario che sappia dialogare con il “cambio d’epoca” che stiamo vivendo.

Questa prima fase, seguita ad una consultazione del Popolo di Dio durata due anni, si può ritenere interlocutoria. Un mese di lavori intensi per saggiare il metodo del confronto sinodale e per un primo scambio su questioni che da molto tempo (forse troppo) attendono risposte adeguate ai segni dei tempi. Temi tutti elencati nell’Instrumentum laboris, tra questi ne elenchiamo alcuni: il rapporto tra Ministero Ordinato e gli altri ministeri; il ruolo delle donne nella comunità e il loro accesso al diaconato, gli organi di partecipazione e i loro poteri; la liturgia e l’inculturazione; il vescovo, il suo stile di leadership, le modalità di selezione e nomina; la formazione dei presbiteri e la riforma dei seminari. Mr. Franco Ferrari is a member of the editorial committee of our magazine Missione Oggi. He is a journalist accredited at the Vatican Press Office during the Synod. Guest of the community of the General House, his presence allowed us to “follow closely” the work of the synod. Our meals have been the time for a direct sharing of information and exchanges on the theme touched upon by the synod fathers and mothers. We cordially thank him for leaving us the following note:

“For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission” is the theme of the fifth synod convoked by pope Francis. The first session (October 4^th-29^th, 2023) is about to end in Rome; the second will be held in 2024.

As far as the intentions of the Bishop of Rome are concerned, this Synod should outline a new model of Church so as to give Her a new missionary drive that leads Her to dialogue with the “change of epoch” we are living in.

This first phase, which comes after a consultation with God’s People lasting two years, can be considered an interlocutory one. It has been a month of intense work to test the method of synodal exchange and for an initial sharing of views on issues that since long (perhaps too long) have been waiting answers appropriate to the signs of time. The relevant themes are all listed in the Instrumentum Laboris, among them we just mention some: the relationship between Ordained Ministry and other ministries; the role of women in the community and their access to the deaconate and to the participation bodies, and their powers; liturgy and inculturation; the bishop: his style of leadership, the modalities for his selection and appointment; the training of priests and the reform of seminaries.
