“In un mondo sempre più diviso, così poco capace di ascoltarsi e di dialogare, vogliamo dimostrare che l’unica via per abitare la casa comune è imparare a essere fratelli. Oggi abbiamo un metodo, un luogo di incontro, un tavolo e un Patto: le difficoltà e le diverse sollecitazioni che incontreremo potranno trovare una risposta condivisa. È questa la vera importanza del percorso che abbiamo costruito”. Con queste parole del Card. Matteo Zuppi, Presidente della CEI, si apre il video che racconta il cammino che ha portato alla sottoscrizione del Patto tra le religioni, firmato il 25 giugno all’Ara Pacis dai rappresentanti delle principali Confessioni religiose presenti in Italia al termine di tre anni di dialogo e confronto.
Il documentario ripercorre un percorso nato “durante il Cammino sinodale delle Chiese in Italia con l’intuizione di ascoltare i rappresentanti delle diverse religioni e, da quell’ascolto, provare a costruire qualcosa insieme. Questo Patto è una testimonianza concreta del desiderio di vivere insieme, pur nelle differenze, che non ci spaventano, ma che riconosciamo come una grande ricchezza”.
ARA PACIS, ROME – PACT AMONG RELIGIONS (June 25th, 2026)
“In an increasingly divided world, where people are so incapable to listen to one another and engage in dialogue, we want to show that the only way to live in our common home is to learn to be brothers and sisters. Today we have a method, a place to meet, a table, and a Pact: the difficulties and various challenges we will face can be addressed through a shared response. Here lies the real significance of the path we have built.” These words by Card. Matteo Zuppi, President of the Italian Bishops Conference, open a video illustrating the journey which led representatives of the main religious denominations present in Italy to sign an Interfaith Pact on June 25th, at the Ara Pacis in Rome. The signing of the Pact comes at the end of a three-year dialogue and debate. The documentary traces a journey that began “during the Synodal Path of the Churches in Italy, inspired by the idea of listening to representatives of different religions and, through that listening, trying to build something together … This Pact is a concrete evidence of our desire to live together, despite our differences – differences that do not frighten us, but which we recognize as a great source of richness.”
