Come ogni anno, il sabato più vicino al 2 febbraio (quest’ anno sarà il 5 febbraio) tutti i religiosi e le religiose della diocesi di Bangkok si ritroveranno insieme per celebrare la XXVI Giornata della Vita Consacrata. Quest’anno, a causa della pandemia, si celebrerà in 7 posti diversi, secondo le zone pastorali, osservando in ogni luogo lo stesso orario. Noi Saveriani siamo stati invitati a partecipare, aiutando nella celebrazione del Sacramento della Riconciliazione e la presidenza dell’Eucaristia, in una di queste 7 zone. Il posto sarà Ayutthaya, dove si trova la Chiesa di San Giuseppe, la prima Chiesa Cattolica (1662) che testimonia l’inizio dell’Evangelizzazione ad opera dei missionari del MEP (Missions Etrangères de Paris) in Tailandia. Durante la celebrazione festeggeremo insieme le religiose e i religiosi di tutte le Congregazioni che faranno i XXV, L e LX di vita consacrata. Per la nazione tailandese, dove la maggioranza della popolazione è buddista, questa giornata rappresenta anche una testimonianza gioiosa e vivace della fede cristiana e della donazione gratuita. Like every year, on the Saturday closer to February 2^nd (this year will be on February 5^th), all religious men and women in the Diocese of Bangkok will gather to celebrate the XXVI World Day for Consecrated Life. Due to the pandemic, this year the celebration will take place concurrently in 7 different places corresponding to the pastoral zones. We Xaverians have been invited to take part and help out in the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and by presiding the Eucharist in one of the 7 zones. Our place will be Ayutthaya, where St Joseph Church is located. This is the earliest Catholic Church (1662) in the country, the one which marks the beginning of the Evangelization of Thailand through the work of MEP (Missions Etrangères de Paris) missionaries. On that day, we will honour the religious women and men that celebrate their 25^th, 50^th and 60^th anniversary of religious consecration. For the Thai nation, whose majority is Buddhist, this occasion represents a joyful and lively witness of Christian faith and free self-giving. (Alex Brai s.x.)
