In viaggio, apparve ancora a quei sapienti la stella che avevano visto in oriente, ed essi furono pieni di grande gioia. (Cfr. Mt 1,9-11)

La stella accende nei saggi venuti dall’Oriente il desiderio di iniziare il viaggio alla ricerca dell’eternità, incarnata nel bambino nato a Betlemme. Una volta in cammino, è la stessa stella a guidarli, sostenerli, incoraggiarli, indicando loro di andare oltre le difficoltà e ostacoli incontrati fino a giungere alla Buona Notizia dell’amore di Dio per l’umanità: entrano, si inginocchiano e lo adorano. Poi aprono i bagagli e gli offrono regali.

Carissimi, il frutto principale della vera adorazione a Dio è il dono quotidiano di sé stesso mettendosi completamente e con grande gioia al suo servizio. Desidero esprimere ad ognuno di voi i migliori di un felice Anno Nuovo 2021. Insieme, con cordialità, generosità e riconoscenza a Dio, lasciamoci guidare giorno dopo giorno dalla stella divina, portando avanti il Suo progetto di amore per noi tutti: Fare del mondo una sola Famiglia!

On the road, the star they had seen in the East still appeared to those wise men, and they were full of great joy.  (Mt. 1.9-11)

The star ignites in those wise men from the East the desire to begin the journey in search of fraternity, embodied in the child born in Bethlehem.  Once on the road, it is the same star which guides them, supports them, encourages them, indicating to them to go beyond the difficulties and obstacles encountered, until they reach the Good News of God’s love for humanity: “they enter, kneel and worship him.  They open their luggage and offer their gifts.

Dear Confreres, the main fruit of true adoration to God is the daily gift of oneself, putting oneself completely and with great joy at his service. I would like to express to each one of you the best of a happy New Year 2021. Together, with cordiality, generosity and gratitude to God, let us allow ourselves to be guided day by day by the divine star, carrying on God’s plan of love for all of us: To make the world one Family!
