A due anni di distanza, (agosto 2018)  dall’inizio del laicato saveriano in Burundi, è stata organizzata una tre giorni di formazione in un contesto di  vita comunitaria, preghiera,  silenzio e un utile approfondimento del ruolo riservato ai laici che desiderano vivere lo spirito missionario del nostro Fondatore.

Dal mercoledì 19 al venerdì 21 agosto,  32 laici saveriani, compresi piccoli nuclei familiari, provenienti dai tre gruppi  che fanno riferimento alle nostre comunità parrocchiali di Bugwana, Kamenge e del centro della capitale Bujumbura si sono ritrovati nella nostra casa di formazione.

«Il nostro Fondatore ci parla nella Lettera Testamento » è stato il tema principale della sessione di formazione saveriana. Attraverso la lettura della lettera della DG indirizzata a tutti i confratelli della nostra famiglia missionaria il  superiore regionale P. Basuzwa ha aiutato  i nostri laici a riscoprire sempre di più  la nostra identità carismatica e a partecipare con attività proprie, nell’anno giubilare della nascita della Lettera Testamento e dell’approvazione delle Costituzioni.

 «La Missione ad Gentes e i laici» e «il laico saveriano: vita e missione sono state donate » sono stati i temi che hanno completato l’ordine del giorno dell’importante assemblea presentati rispettivamente dal P.J. Dieudonné Ndaboroheye e dal presidente del laicato burundese Mathias Barimwabo.

C’è stato anche il tempo per una breve revisione delle strutture organiche che gestiscono il laicato saveriano burundese nell’intento di migliorare la coordinazione delle attività tra i vari gruppi.

Two years have passed since the start of the Xaverian Lay Group in Burundi.  For the occasion, a three –day training was organized in a context of community life, prayer, silence and a useful deepening of the role reserved for lay people, who wish to live the missionary spirit of our Founder.  From Wednesday, August 19^th to Friday August 21^st, 32 Lay Xaverian friends, including small families, from the three groups, which refer to our parish communities of Bugwana, Kamemge and the center of the capital Bujumbura, met in our Formation Training House.

“Our Founder speaks to us in his Testament Letter” was the main theme of the Xaverian Training Session.  Through the reading of the DG’s Letter to all the Xaverian Confreres of our Misionary Family, the Regional Superior, Fr. Basuzwa has helped our lay friends to rediscover our charismatic identity more and more, and urged them to participate with their activities during this Jubilee Year celebrating the writing of the Testament Letter and receiving the approval of the Constitutions.

“The Mission ad Gentes and the Laity”, “The Xaverian Laity”, “Life and Mission” are gifts we all share together.  They were the themes which completed the agenda of our important assembly.  They were presented respectively by Fr. J. Dieudonné Ndaboroheye and by Mr. Mathias Barimwabo,  President of our Group of Xaverian Laity.

There was also time for a brief review of the organizational structures  of the local Xaverian Laity Group in the effort to improve the coordination of the many various activities in which all of them are involved.
