È stato pubblicato il numero 12 di “CADERNOS” del “Centro de Estudos Missionários Latino-Americano (CEMLA).

Il titolo scelto per il numero 12 di “Cadernos è “Para além do ad Vitam”.  (Oltre l’Ad Vitam). Dietro il volto di Suor Dorothy, un indigeno che alza un cartellone con la scritta “Nossa luta é pela vida do Pleneta” (“La nostra lotta è per la vita del pianeta”). Il numero 12 viene introdotto dall’Editoriale con queste parole:

Suor Dorothy Mae Stang, di origine americana, è nata a Dayton, Ohio, USA, il 7 giugno 1931 ed è stata uccisa all'età di 73 anni il 12 febbraio 2005…

…Secondo un testimone, prima di ricevere il colpo di grazia, le è stato chiesto se fosse armata. La sua risposta: “Ecco la mia pistola!” e ha presentato la Bibbia. Ha letto alcuni versetti all'uomo che poi l'avrebbe colpita…

…"Non ho intenzione di scappare e non ho intenzione di abbandonare la lotta di questi contadini che sono senza protezione nella foresta. Hanno il sacrosanto diritto a una vita migliore su una terra in cui possano vivere e produrre con dignità senza devastare la foresta"…

The Centre for Latin-American Missionary Studies (Centro de Estudos Missionários Latino-Americano, or CEMLA) has published issue no. 12 of its CADERNOS.

The cover displays the image of the Poster for the celebration marking the 20^th anniversary of the murder of Sr. Dorothy Mae Stang, that occurred on February 12^th, 2005, in Anapu, Pará State, Brazil.

The title chosen for this issue no. 12 is “Para além do ad Vitam” (Beyond the ad vitam). Behind the face of Sr. Doroty stands an indigenous man holding up a banner that reads “Nossa luta é pela vida do Pleneta” (We fight for the life of the planet). Issue no. 12 is introduced by the words of the Editorial:

Sr. Dorothy Mae Stang, was born in Dayton, Ohio, USA, on June 7^th, 1931 and was killed at the age of 73 on February 12^th, 2005. …

… According to a witness, before receiving the coup de grâce, she was asked whether she was armed. She replied: “Here is my rifle!” and pulled out her Bible. From it, she read few lines to the man that was about to shoot her. …

… “I have no intention to run away, no intention to abandon the struggle of these farmers who are without protection in the forest. They have the inviolable right to a better life on a land where they can live and produce with dignity without devastating the forest.” …
