Venerdì 22 dicembre 2023 è deceduta a Parma, presso la  Casa Madre delle Missionarie di Maria, Saveriane, la sorella Pia Bianca Maria Arienti, meglio conosciuta come Maria Pia. Aveva 93 anni.

Maria Pia è entrata in Congregazione nel 1949, giovanissima e ha conosciuto molto bene i due Fondatori, il Padre e la Madre, con i quali ha vissuto e lavorato anche in servizi di responsabilità. Nel 1970 è partita per la R.D. del Congo (allora Zaire ), lavorando nella promozione della donna, nella scuola professionale e poi come maestra delle novizie che in Congo iniziavano il loro cammino nella famiglia delle Saveriane. Rientrata in Italia per avvicendamento, nel 2009, è rimasta sempre qui a Parma, in Casa Madre, dapprima offrendo dei servizi interni e poi con il progredire dell’età e della malattia, in cura con le sorelle del terzo piano.

Domenica 17 dicembre 2023 è deceduto il sig. Romano, fratello del nostro confratello p. Giovanni Querzani (Parma, Casa Madre). Aveva 87 anni.

L’Eucaristia e le esequie sono state celebrate mercoledì 20 dicembre, ore 15.00, nella parrocchia di S. Maria Assunta a Pianoro Nuovo (Bologna, Italia).

On Friday 22 December 2023, Sister Pia Bianca Maria Arienti, better known as Maria Pia, died at the Mother House of the Missionaries of Mary – Xaverian Sisters, in Parma. She was 93 years old.

Maria Pia entered the Congregation in 1949, very young. She knew the two Founders, the Father and Mother, very well. With them she also lived and worked in several services of leadership. In 1970 she left for the D.R. of Congo (then Zaire), where she worked in the promotion of women, in the vocational school and as novices’ Mistress who were then beginning their journey in the Xaverian Sisters family in Congo. Upon returning to Italy on a rotation in 2009, she always remained here in Parma, in the Mother House, initially offering internal services and then, as her age and illness progressed, under the care of the sisters on the third floor.

On Sunday, December 17^th, 2023, Mr Romano, brother of our confrere Fr. Giovanni Querzani (Mother House, Parma), passed away. He was 87.

The Requiem Mass and funerary rites were celebrated on Wednesday, December 20^th, at 3:00 p.m. in Assumption of Mary Parish of Pianoro Nuovo (Bologna, Italy).
