La diocesi di Padang è in festa. Il popolo di Dio e la famiglia Saveriana in Indonesia gioiscono perché dopo quasi due anni (1 anno e 11 mesi) dalla scomparsa del compianto Mons. Martinus D. Situmorang, OFMCap, il Signore ci dona un nuovo vescovo nella persona di uno dei nostri fratelli Saveriani indonesiani.

Giovedì 7 ottobre 2021, festa della Madonna del Rosario, sarà ordinato vescovo nella cattedrale di Padang – Sumatra – Indonesia, il nostro confratello p. Vitus Rubianto Solichin sx.

Il vescovo Vitus è il terzo Saveriano a guidare questa Diocesi. Per la Famiglia Saveriana è molto significativo celebrare con gratitudine al Signore il 70° anniversario dall’arrivo dei Missionari Saveriani  in Indonesia con questo dono.

A causa della Pandemia da Covid-19, la celebrazione sarà molto semplice. Oltre a 21 vescovi, saranno presenti i sacerdoti e i rappresentanti laici delle 29 parrocchie, i religiosi e le religiose che lavorano nella Diocesi di Padang.

Una coincidenza: il 7 ottobre è la festa della parrocchia d'origine del vescovo Vitus, cioè la  cattedrale di Semarang (Giava Centrale), intitolata, appunto, alla Madonna del Rosario. Qui il giovane Vitus ha ricevuto i tre sacramenti dell’iniziazione cristiana. Il pastore della sua diocesi di origine, il vescovo Robertus Rubyatmoko, parteciperà alla concelebrazione eucaristica.

The Diocese of Padang is celebrating. The people of God and the Xaverian Family in Indonesia rejoice, because after almost two years (1 year and 11 months) since the death of Msgr. Martinus D. Situmorang, OFMCap, the Lord gives us a new Bishop in the person of one of our Indonesian Confreres.

Thursday, October 7^th, 2021, on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Fr. Vitus Rubianto Solichin s.x. will be ordained Bishop in the Cathedral of Padang, Sumatra – Indonesia.

Bishop Vitus Rubianto Solichin is the third Xaverian pastor to lead the Diocese. For the Xaverian Family it is very significant to receive this gift while we celebrate with gratitude to the Lord the 70^th anniversary of the arrival of the Xaverian Missionaries in Indonesia.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the celebration will be very simple. In addition to 21 Bishops, there will be the priests and the lay representatives of the 29 parishes, and the men and women Religious who work in the Diocese of Padang.

A coincidence:  October 7^th is the Feast of the parish of origin of Bishop Vitus. It is the cathedral of Semarang (Central Java), which is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. Here, the young Vitus received the first three sacraments of Christian initiation. The pastor of his diocese of origin, Bishop Robertus Rubyatmoko, will participate in the Eucharistic Celebration.
