Il 24 dicembre 2021, la comunità Francescana di Tetouan, dopo l'Eucaristia ci ha accolto tutti a cena. Eravamo più di 80 persone, di 12 nazionalità diverse. La maggioranza dei partecipanti era costituita da studenti dell’Africa sub sahariana  (Sudan, Ciad, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali e Mauritania). Il 25 dicembre 2021 abbiamo festeggiato con la nostra piccola comunità di San Francisco di M'diq: cinque laici e tre Saveriani. Abbiamo concluso l’incontro con un brindisi, augurandoci un Buon Natale.

Per chiudere in bellezza, i nostri amici sufi - invitati a casa nostra per festeggiare insieme - hanno portato del cibo da condividere. Abbiamo iniziato questo momento di incontro con una preghiera in cui abbiamo ascoltato i racconti della nascita di Gesù nel Vangelo e il Corano. Abbiamo anche cantato insieme alcuni motivi natalizi e, soprattutto, abbiamo ricevuto insieme la Baraka (benedizione, ndr) di Dio. Il pomeriggio si è allungato perché non volevamo che finisse e Houda, prima di uscire, ci ha ripetuto: "Grazie di cuore per la vostra generosità e per averci aperto le vostre porte, Buon Natale" (Rolando Ruíz Durán sx)

On December 24^th, 2021, after the Eucharistic celebration, the Franciscan community of Tetouan invited us to stay for supper. We were about 80 people from 12 different nationalities. The majority of participants were students from Sub-Saharan Africa (Sudan, Chad, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali and Mauritania). On December 25^th, 2021, we celebrated with our small community of San Francisco in M’diq: five lay Christians and three Xaverians. We concluded the meeting with a toast, wishing each other Merry Christmas.

To round off the day, our Sufi friends, whom we invited to our house to celebrate together, brought the food that we subsequently shared. Our encounter began with a moment of prayer during which we listened to the story of Jesus’ birth narrated in the Gospel and in the Quran. We have also sung together some Christmas melodies and, especially, together we received God’s Baraka (blessing – ed.). The afternoon became longer because we did not want it to finish. Before leaving, Houda repeated: “Thanks from my heart for your generosity and for opening your doors to us. Merry Christmas.” (Rolando Ruíz Durán s.x.)
