Riportiamo di seguito alcuni punti dell’abbondante e ricca condivisione dei nostri confratelli del 4° Piano sulla Scheda Tematica n. 3: “Dove siamo: ad gentes, ad extra, ad vitam, missione e cultura”.

• L’essere in questo 4° Piano della Casa Madre di Parma non ci esime dall’essere testimoni della nostra fede e consacrazione. L’esperienza vissuta in Burundi mi ha insegnato a pensare la Chiesa, la nostra consacrazione missionaria in termini di “sinodalità” e di “corresponsabilità”.

• Ci è difficile capire i tanti cambiamenti d’epoca, soprattutto noi che viviamo situazioni di salute del tutto particolare. E per tranquillizzarci continuiamo a ripeterci che va bene così come stiamo e i cambiamenti sembrano non interessarci. Ma in tutto questo mi domando, allora: ci potrebbe essere qualche stimolo? Perché, allora, non cambiare? Qualche dubbio non ce l’abbiamo davvero? Penso che, se lo vogliamo, anche dal 4° piano possiamo accogliere questo cambiamento e suggerire qualche cosa.

• Bisogna sentirci missionari dappertutto, anche qui in Italia e anche con i nostri limiti fisici. Mi sento sempre missionario. Anche da questo 4° piano della Casa Madre posso continuare ad esserlo, ad gentes e ad extra, con la mia preghiera e con l’offerta dei miei limiti fisici e mentali.

• Il discorso della comunità è fondamentale, perché la forza della comunità è proprio nel diventare centro che irradia l’azione dello Spirito che continua a modellare e ad ispirare sempre forme nuove. Noi Saveriani non dimentichiamo il Crocifisso, perché è proprio il crocifisso a suggerirci e guidarci a vedere le cose di Dio. È questa una linea carismatica da condividere e testimoniare nell’oggi. Il saper irradiare questa grande voglia di vita insieme, è l’impegno nuovo che il mondo saveriano dovrà assumere nel cuore di altri popoli e culture.

Below, we present some points taken from the rich and deep sharing of our confreres in the 4^th Floor on Thematic Sheet 3: Where are we? Ad gentes, Ad extra, Ad vitam, mission and culture.

• Staying in this 4^th Floor of the Mother House in Parma does not exempt us from being witnesses of our faith and consecration. My experience of life in Burundi taught me to think of the Church and our missionary consecration in terms of “sinodality” and “co-responsibility”.

• It is difficult – especially for us who are going through particular health conditions – to understand the many epochal changes that are taking place. To reassure ourselves we continue repeating that the way we are is good enough and are not interested in changes. So, in this situation, I ask myself, could there be some stimulus? Why not changing? Don’t we really have any doubt? I think that, if we want, the 4^th Floor too could welcome this change and suggest something.

• One must feel that he is a missionary everywhere, even here in Italy and even with our physical limitations. I always feel I am a missionary. I can continue being a missionary, ad gentes and ad extra, also from this 4^th Floor of the Mother House, through my prayer and the offering of my physical and mental limits.

• Community is fundamental, because the strength of the community lies in its becoming a centre that irradiates the action of the Spirit who continues moulding and inspiring new forms. We Xaverians do not forget the Crucified One, because it is precisely the crucifix that leads us to see God’s works. This is a charismatic aspect that must be shared and witnessed every day. To be able to spread around us this great desire to live together is the new commitment which the Xaverian world shall have to shoulder at the heart of other peoples and cultures.
