Ci scrivono da Vicenza: “Venerdì 4 ottobre e sabato 5 ottobre: i primi due appuntamenti del mese missionario straordinario, organizzati dall’Ufficio Diocesano per le missioni (Agostino Rigon) e dalla pastorale diocesana (Don Fausto Marchesin). Alla sera del venerdì, in Cattedrale, la veglia Missionaria d’invio sul tema: “Battezzati e inviati per la vita del mondo”. Nella giornata del sabato, il meeting diocesano in casa nostra. È stato un evento importante accogliere le commissioni missionarie di tutta la diocesi nel nostro Istituto, quasi un riconoscimento della diocesi per il ruolo dei Saveriani nei cento anni a Vicenza. Sono stati presenti alle relazioni due vescovi: Mons. Roque Paloschi, arcivescovo di Porto Velho (Amazzonia) e Mons. Beniamino Pizziol, vescovo di Vicenza. Hanno partecipato come relatori Don Matteo Prodi e Enrica Rosato, volontaria laica missionaria. Più di 400 le persone che erano presenti, e che hanno riempito la grande sala, arricchita per l’occasione con un proiettore potente, con una telecamera e due nuovi schermi.”

News from Vicenza:  On Friday, October 4^th  and on Saturday, October 5^th – 2019, we had the first two encounters of this extraordinary missionary month.  They were organized by the Diocesan Office for the Missions (Agostino Rigon) and by the Diocesan Pastoral Ministry (Rev. Fausto Marchesin).  On Friday Evening, in the Cathedral of Vicenza, there was a Prayer Service on the following theme:  “Baptized and sent for life in the world.”  On Saturday, the encounter took place in our House.  To welcome the Diocesan Missionary Commissions of the whole Diocese of Vicenza in our House was definitely a most important event.  It was like a recognition of the role and contribution of the Xaverians in these last one hundred years of presence of the Xaverians in the Diocese.  Mons. Roque Paloschi, Archbishop of Porto Velho (Amazons) and Mons. Beniamino Pizziol, Bishop of the city of Vicenza were present and listened to the various reports.  Rev. Fr. Matteo Prodi and Ms. Enrica Rosato, lay missionary volunteer, were the speakers.  There were more than 400 persons present.  All participated and filled the grand Hall of the House.  A powerful film projector, a tele-camera and two new showing structures enriched the event."
