Il 3 dicembre, festa di San Francesco Saverio, è stata una magnifica giornata per la comunità saveriana di San Pietro in Vincoli. Erano presenti più di 60 sacerdoti e diaconi delle diocesi di Forlì, Ravenna, Faenza e Cesena.
Il Cardinale Matteo Zuppi, arcivescovo di Bologna, ha parlato a tutti i convenuti e successivamente ha presieduto la Celebrazione Eucaristica. Sono intervenuti anche il vescovo di Forlì, Mons. Livio Corazza e l'arcivescovo di Ravenna, Mons. Lorenzo Ghizzoni. Era presente anche il vescovo emerito di Forlì, Mons. Lino Pizzi.
Il Cardinale ha parlato della missionarietà della chiesa, dei cambiamenti in atto, dell'attenzione agli immigrati e della necessità di cogliere i segni dei tempi. Ha menzionato il nostro Eugenio Melandri e ha ricordato le sue battaglie a favore dei poveri, per la pace e per i diritti umani. Ha insistito che Eugenio è sempre rimasto saveriano.
Anche il vescovo di Forlì e l'arcivescovo di Ravenna hanno parlato con grande parresia invitando tutti a non perdere la speranza e ad accettare il nuovo che avanza.
La giornata si è conclusa con il tradizionale pranzo, momento di condivisione informale e di fraternità.
December 3rd – 2019, Feast of St. francis Xavier, was a magnificent day for the Xaverian Community of San Pietro in Vincoli. More than 60 Priests and Deacons from the Dioceses of Forlì, Ravenna, Faenza and Cesena were present.
Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, Archbishop of Bologna, spoke to all who were present and, subsequently, presided at the Eucharistic Celebration. The Bishop of Forlì, Mons. Livio Corazza and the Archbishop of Ravenna, Mons. Lorenzo Ghizzoni also added significantly from the richness of their experience of Church and of pastoral ministry, underlining the significance of the Xaverian missionary charismatic contribution. Also present was the Bishop emeritus of Forlì, Mons. Lino Pizzi.
The Cardinal spoke of the missionary nature of the Church, the changes taking place, the attention to immigrants and of the need to grasp the signs of the times. He mentioned our Fr. Eugenio Melandri, who recently passed away, and recalled his battles for the poor, for peace and for human rights. He insisted that Fr. Eugenio Melandri always remained a Xaverian and had acted as a Xaverian.
The Bishop of Forlì and the Archbishop of Ravenna also spoke with great parresia, urging everyone not to loose hope and to accept the new that is advancing.
The day ended with the traditional lunch, a precious moment of informal sharing and fraternity.
