In questo messaggio Papa Leone XIV sottolinea il buon uso che si deve fare dell'Intelligenza Artificiale. Si tratta dell'ultima novità che la tecnologia offre per il lavoro e la vita quotidiana: scrivere messaggi, creare immagini e audiovisivi, ma anche un grande aiuto nel campo educativo e scientifico, ecc.
Tuttavia, bisogna tenere presente che tutto ciò che crea l'essere umano è ambivalente, ad esempio, può aiutarci a svolgere un compito, ma può anche privarci della capacità di pensare, può disumanizzarci. Per questo è importante difendere il volto e la voce umana, poiché oggi l'IA è in grado di imitarli al punto che è difficile distinguerli.
Il rimedio per non lasciare che l'IA faccia tutto per noi, per non perdere la nostra capacità di pensare e di essere critici è “l'alfabetizzazione ai mezzi di comunicazione, all'informazione e all'IA”.
