Giovedì 29 settembre 2022 è iniziata la celebrazione del Festival della Missione a Milano. Uno degli elementi importanti di questo Festival, anche se non se ne parla molto, è quello dell’intercongregazionalità (la sinergia degli istituti missionari) intesa non solo come prospettiva di uno stile di vita consacrata e missionaria per i nostri giorni, ma anche come un elemento di una ecclesiologia profetica ricca di significato per le società contemporanea.

Fin dai primi passi, il Festival della Missione ha voluto - sia all’interno dell’organizzazione che all’esterno - che la cooperazione, la collaborazione e la sinodalità fossero caratteristiche distintive dell’evento: una varietà di carismi e doni (talenti, competenze) al servizio della missione.

Abbiamo avuto modo di comunicare in varie occasioni i contenuti del Festival, tuttavia l’esperienza dei confratelli Mario Menin sx, Gabriel Arroyo Salcido sx, e Carlos Eduardo Reynoso Tostado sx, direttamente coinvolti in questa organizzazione, ci porta a sottolineare la forza della dimensione dell’intercongregazionalità con la vitale collaborazione di molti volontari. Si tratta di un forte richiamo anche per le nostre comunità nell’impegno di vivere il carisma della missione ad gentes.

La comunione, la collaborazione, le relazioni, le “reti” che si sono create in questo lungo periodo di preparazione e ora di celebrazione ci porta a valutare e incoraggiare questo stile di camminare insieme.

L’arcivescovo di Milano, Mario Delpini, ha voluto lanciare il Festival con le seguenti parole:  “Siamo in missione: siamo mandati per dire parole di Vangelo. Siamo in missione: mettiamo mano all’impresa di celebrare la gioia di essere tutti sorelle e fratelli! Per questo la missione a Milano diventa un festival...”.

Infine, tra gli ospiti invitati alla prima giornata del Festival, anche il nostro confratello p. Tiziano Tosolini sx che ha presentato il libro “A Nostra Immagine. Le Religioni di fronte alle sfide del Transumanesimo”. “Un libro - scrive l’autore stesso - che intende dialogare con le nuove frontiere culturali e scientifiche con la convinzione che anche lì debba essere donato il messaggio evangelico e spirituale che solo può restituire all’uomo la sua immagine divina”.

On Thursday, September 29^th, 2022, the Mission Festival kicked off in Milan. One important – and somehow neglected – aspect of this Festival is its inter-congregational character (or the synergy among missionary institutes), which is not only one style of consecrated and missionary life in our days, but also a type of ecclesiology which has a prophetic meaning for contemporary society.

Since its beginning, the Mission Festival wanted to adopt synodality – both in its internal organization and towards the outside – as the main characteristic of the event. The festival brings to the fore the variety of charisms and talents at the service of mission.

We have already had the chance to present in various moments the contents of the Festival. Based on the experience of our confreres Mario Menin s.x., Gabriel Arroyo Salcido s.x. and Carlos Eduardo Reynoso Tostado s.x., who are directly involved in its organisation, we would like also to emphasize the strength that derives from its inter-congregational character and the vital cooperation with many volunteers. This experience is a strong reminder to our communities of the way we are called to live the charism of mission ad gentes.

The various forms of communion, which grew out of both the long preparation and the present celebration of the Festival, lead us to a positive evaluation of this style of walking together and encourage its widespread adoption.

The Archbishop of Milan, Msgr. Mario Delpini, wished to launch the Festival with this words: “We are in mission. We are sent to say words of the Gospel. We are in mission: let’s start the enterprise of celebrating the joy of being all sisters and brothers! This is why in Milan the mission becomes a festival…”

Finally, among the invited guests of the first day of the Festival was our confrere Fr. Tiziano Tosolini s.x. who presented his book: A Nostra Immagine. Le Religioni di fronte alle sfide del transumanesimo. “This book – writes the author – is meant to engage the new cultural and scientific frontiers in a dialogue. We have the conviction that even these frontiers must be given the gift of that spiritual and evangelical message which alone can give back to humanity its divine image.” (Carlos Eduardo Reynoso Tostado s.x.)
