Ad ogni Pasqua, il sogno del nostro Fondatore, San Guido M. Conforti, di “fare del mondo una sola famiglia” diventa visibile quando lasciamo la città di Taipei, per recarci al villaggio montano di Qubing e trascorrere la Settimana Santa con la nostra parrocchia sorella di Nostra Signora di Fatima. Il desiderio di creare famiglia, di allargare il circolo delle relazioni, è nato sulle rovine causate dal grande terremoto che ha devastato questa sona il 21 settembre 1999. In quell’occasione, la nostra comunità saveriana e la nostra parrocchia di San Francesco Saverio risposero all’invito di aiutare materialmente e spiritualmente il villaggio di Qubing. Poi successe qualcosa di incredibile. Col passare dell’emergenza, la gente di entrambe le parrocchie scoprì che la tragedia del terremoto aveva fatto nascere un nuovo spirito, un legame prezioso degno di essere mantenuto e nutrito. Quindi, negli ultimi 20 anni, abbiamo continuato a sostenere questa relazione attraverso visite ed attività, specialmente durante le celebrazioni liturgiche maggiori (Settimana Santa e Natale). È incredibile vedere come queste due comunità si sono legate nel corso degli anni, come si siano sviluppate amicizie tra le persone e come lo spirito di Conforti continui a motivare la nostra presenza e missione. Scendano le benedizioni Pasquali su tutti voi. Possa la pace e la gioia del Signore Risorto trasformare i nostri cuori e renderci canali di comunione ed armonia. (Joe Matteucig s.x.)

Every Easter, the dream of our Founder Saint Guido M. Conforti “Make of the world one single family,” becomes visible when we leave the city of Taipei, travel to the mountain village of Qubing, and spend Holy Week with our sister parish of Our Lady of Fatima. This desire to create family, to enlarge the circle of relationships, was born out of the ruins caused by the great earthquake that struck this area on September 21, 1999. Our Xaverian community and our St. Francis Xavier Parish answered the call to help the village of Qubing materially and spiritually. Then something incredible happened. When the emergency subsided, the people of both parishes discovered that the tragedy of the earthquake had given birth to a new spirit, a precious bond worthy of being maintained and nourished. Therefore, over the past 20 years, we have continued to sustain this mutual relationship through visits and activities, especially during major liturgical celebrations (Holy Week and Christmas). It is incredible to see how these two communities have bonded together over the years, how personal friendships have developed, and how the spirit of Conforti continues to motivate our presence and mission.
