Il Calendario Saveriano, il 14 ottobre segna un importante avvenimento di famiglia: la “Giornata dei Martiri Saveriani”.
San Guido Maria Conforti parlava del giovane p. Caio Rastelli come il “primo mio missionario che ha sacrificato sì generosamente la vita per Cristo”.
La Lumen Gentium parla del martirio, accettato liberamente, come la “suprema probatio caritatis”.
La testimonianza dei nostri fratelli martiri è per tutta la Famiglia Carismatica fonte di profonda speranza. Lo esprime con chiarezza il Fondatore: “[il missionario è] pronto sempre a versare il proprio sangue, se questo sarà necessario pel bene dei fratelli, anzi col desiderio in cuore di suggellare col martirio il proprio apostolato. Oh! inchiniamoci, fratelli...”.

OCTOBER 14TH, SECOND FRIDAY OF THE MISSIONARY MONTH: XAVERIAN MARTYRS DAY
The Xaverian Calendar marks an important family event on October 14th: “Xaverian Martyrs Day.”
St Guido Maria Conforti used to speak of the young Fr. Caio Rastelli s.x. as “my first missionary to sacrifice generously his own life for Christ.”
Lumen Gentium describes martyrdom that is freely accepted as the “suprema probatio caritatis (fullest proof of love).”
The witness of our martyr brothers is a source of deep hope for the entire Charismatic Family. This is clearly expressed by the Founder: “[The missionary is] ever ready to shed his own blood for the good of his brothers when this may become necessary; in fact, he cherishes the desire to seal his own apostolate with martyrdom. Oh, brothers, let us kneel down… ”
