Mercoledì 5 novembre 2025, grande festa alla Casa madre dei Missionari Saveriani a Parma. Era la memoria liturgica del Fondatore, il Santo Guido Maria Conforti, a 94 anni dalla sua morte. Alle ore 11 c’è stata la celebrazione eucaristica, presieduta da p. Fabien Kalehezo T’Chiribuka, Consigliere generale, con la partecipazione di tanti Missionari Saveriani venuti da diverse comunità.

Tra loro, i confratelli che a Roma stanno studiando la lingua per poi seguire l’Anno di formazione Saveriana a Parma; la nuova comunità di formazione di Teologia di Desio, di cui i cinque studenti – un burundese, due congolesi e due indonesiani – hanno rinnovato i loro voti.

Tra i partecipanti c’erano alcuni padri Monfortani di passaggio; c’erano poi cinque giovani volontari missionari italiani che, con l’aiuto dei Saveriani della Comunità “Centro Marini”, si stanno preparando alla partenza per la Sierra Leone, il Mozambico e la Tailandia.

Presenti anche Laici e Laiche Missionari Saveriani (Lamix), molte sorelle Saveriane e laici e laiche della loro Famiglia Missionaria (Lmmx). C’erano rappresentanti del GAMS, il gruppo di amici e sostenitori dei Saveriani; un gruppo di pellegrini brasiliani di passaggio e diversi amici, famigliari e conoscenti.

Il clima festoso dell’Eucarestia, accentuato da numerosi canti in diverse lingue proposti dal coro, è continuato poi attorno alla tavola. Abbiamo pranzato insieme e poi i vari gruppi si sono presentati. Due missionari partenti hanno rivolto il loro saluto e manifestato la loro gioia: p. Carlo Salvadori sx per il Ciad e Rosella Offredi mmx per il Messico.

Cogliamo l’occasione per ricordare anche la presenza di una settantina di giovani legati in qualche modo al volontariato Saveriano. Essi hanno trascorso sabato 8 e domenica 9 novembre insieme per un tempo di preghiera, scambio e formazione.

Sempre domenica 9 novembre, le parrocchie del Vicariato extra-urbano che porta il nome di San Conforti sono venute in pellegrinaggio al Santuario, animate dal nostro confratello p. Nicola Colasuonno. Hanno concluso il pellegrinaggio con la visita al Museo d'Arte Cinese ed Etnografico.

Infine, venerdì 7 novembre, è stata trasmessa su Radio Maria la celebrazione dell’ Eucaristia della comunità della Casa Madre. E come anticipato nello scorso Flash, nel pomeriggio dello stesso venerdì 7 novembre si è svolto l’incontro degli Amici del Cinquenovembre parte della serie “Parma negli anni”. In questa occasione si è analizzato l’anno 1925 attraverso interventi sulla situazione politica e religiosa di quell’anno e sul ruolo giocato da Mons. Conforti. L’incontro, frutto del lavoro di p. Ermanno Ferro e del gruppo dei suoi collaboratori, ha avuto un buon successo di pubblico.  (Armando Coletto sx e Teresina Caffi mmx)

Wednesday, November 5^th, 2025, there was a great celebration in the Mother House of the Xaverian missionaries in Parma. The occasion: the liturgical memory of the Founder, St Guido Maria Conforti, 94 years after his death. At 11:00 a.m., there was the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the General Councillor, p. Fabien Kalehezo T’Chiribuka, and attended by many Xaverian Missionaries that arrived from various communities. Among them were: the confreres that are currently studying Italian in Rome to prepare for the Year of Xaverian formation they will spend in Parma; the new community in Theological training from Desio, whose five students (a Burundian, two Congolese and two Indonesians) renewed their vows.

Other participants included some Montfortian fathers passing through Parma;  five young Italian missionary volunteers who, with the help of the Xaverians at the “Centro Marini” Community, are preparing to leave for Sierra Leone, Mozambique, and Thailand; Lay Xaverian missionaries (Lamix); many Xaverian sisters along with the laity of their Missionary Family (Lmmx); representatives of GAMS,  i.e., the group of friends and benefactor of the Xaverians; a group of Brazilian pilgrims passing through Parma and various friends, relatives and acquaintances.

The festive atmosphere of the Eucharist, enhanced by numerous songs in different languages performed by the choir, continued around the table. We had lunch together, then the different groups introduced themselves. Two departing missionaries expressed their joy and said goodbyes to all – Fr. Carlo Salvadori, s.x., who is about to leave for Chad, and Rosella Offredi, m.m.x., for Mexico.

We would like to mention also the presence of around seventy young people who, in different ways, are connected with the Xaverian volunteers. They spent Saturday, November 8^th, and Sunday, November 9^th, together for a time of prayer, sharing, and formation.

On Sunday, November 9^th, the parishes of the extra-urban Vicariate named after San Conforti came on a pilgrimage to the Shrine and were entertained by Fr. Nicola Colasuonno. They concluded their pilgrimage with a visit to the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography.

Finally, on Friday, November 7^th, the Eucharistic celebration at the community of the Mother House was broadcasted by Radio Maria. Moreover, as anticipated in the last issue of Flash, in the afternoon of the same Friday, November 7^th, as part of the series of meetings “Parma negli anni” (Parma through the years), the traditional meeting of Amici del Cinquenovembre took place. On that occasion, the year 1925 was analysed through reports that dealt with the political and religious situation in Parma and the role played by Monsignor Conforti in that year. The meeting, which is the result of the work of Fr. Ermanno Ferro and his group of collaborators, was a great success with the public. (Armando Coletto sx e Teresina Caffi mmx)
