Nel contesto dell'anno dedicato dalla Chiesa Filippina al dialogo interreligioso, ecumenismo e popoli indigeni, sabato 2 febbraio la comunità del Teologato di Manila ha organizzato insieme ai giovani della Parrocchia di San Francesco Saverio di Maligaya un incontro interreligioso a cui hanno partecipato 7 giovani musulmani del gruppo RESKYU. I presenti all'incontro erano in tutto un centinaio. Il programma ha previsto giochi, canti, momenti di scambio in gruppi per conoscere la fede dell'altro, oltre ad una presentazione del vicepresidente dei RESKYU Ahmad Nader, che ha parlato dell'Islam come religione della pace. L'incontro, che è durato tutto il pomeriggio e si è concluso con la cena, è stato molto vivace e partecipato. Molti giovani cattolici erano contenti e hanno parlato a lungo con gli amici musulmani chiedendo tante cose sulla loro fede e sui motivi dei conflitti interreligiosi di cui siamo testimoni. Una ragazza musulmana è rimasta sorpresa dall'accoglienza dei giovani cattolici ed si diceva "strafelice." Alla fine alcuni non volevano più partire...

In the context of the year dedicated to interfaith dialogue, ecumenism and indigenous peoples by the Catholic Church of the Philippines, on Saturday, February 2^nd – 2020, the Theology Xaverian Community of Manila organized together with the young people of St. Francis Xavier Parish of Maligaya a special interreligious meeting, to which seven young Moslems of the Group RESKYU participated. Over a hundred persons were present at the meeting. The program included games, songs, moments of exchange in groups to learn about the faith of the others.  There was also a presentation by RESKYU Vice President Ahmad Nader, who spoke of Islam as a religion of peace.  The meeting, which lasted all afternoon and ended with dinner, was very lively and well attended.  Many young Catholics were happy and spoke at length with Moslems friends, asking so much about their faith and the reasons for the interfaith conflicts we witness.  A Moslem girl was surprised by the reception she received by young Catholics and said she was “happy”.  In the end, some people seemed not to want to leave anymore …
