Il 29 ottobre 2022 si è svolto presso la Casa Generalizia il consueto ritiro in occasione della festa di san Guido Maria Conforti. La meditazione è stata guidata dal nostro confratello p. Tiziano Tosolini il quale si è soffermato non tanto sulla figura di san Guido Maria Conforti in sé, quanto piuttosto sul suo modello ispiratore, la fonte alla quale il Fondatore si è dissetato lungo tutta la sua vita, ovvero il Cristo Crocifisso: “Io guardavo Lui, e Lui guardava me, e pareva mi dicesse tante cose”.

P. Tiziano si è concentrato soprattutto sulla “nuova ontologia” (ovvero, sul nuovo modo di comprender-si dell’uomo) che il Crocifisso, nel suo “amarmi dando se stesso per me”, ha inaugurato nel cuore dell’uomo. A partire dalla consapevolezza che “non sono più io che vivo, ma Cristo vive in me” (Gal. 2,20) l’evento della croce dona una nuova identità a colui che la guarda.

L’ “io sono” su cui ruota l’esistenza della persona non dipenderà più da quanto il soggetto è riuscito a dedurre a partire dal suo pensiero e dalle sue azioni, dalle sintesi razionali elaborate dalle sue precomprensioni sociali, culturali, intellettuali..., ma dalla scoperta di essere-sé nel trovarsi già pensato e amato da Cristo, cioè nel suo essere spossessato di sé a partire da una relazione nella quale l’io vede provenire dal Crocifisso il da-dove e il verso-dove del suo stesso esser-ci.

Per la riflessione e la preghiera personale il predicatore ci ha lasciato la seguente domanda: se Cristo vive in me perché ha dato se stesso per me, come afferma san Paolo (Gal 2,20), se quindi "io sono l'atto di amore di Cristo per me" e non invece (come di solito ci piace pensare) il frutto della mia cultura, della mia condizione sociale, del mio passato... quale nuovo atteggiamento devo assumere nel mio rapporto con Dio, con gli altri, con la missione a cui sono chiamato?

Alle 12.00 ci siamo ritrovati per la celebrazione dell’Eucaristia, presieduta da p. Tiziano. Nell’ascolto della Parola e nella frazione del pane, abbiamo messo in comune alcuni elementi che ci hanno toccato da molto vicino come figli e come missionari. Abbiamo concluso la giornata insieme con un pranzo cento per cento casalingo. 

On October 29^th, 2022, the customary retreat in preparation for the feast of St Guido Maria Conforti was held at the General House. The meditation was led by our confrere, Fr. Tiziano Tosolini who, rather than reflecting on the personality of St Guido M. Conforti, decided to spend time on his inspiring model, the well from which our Founder drank throughout his life, namely, Jesus Christ: “I looked at him and He looked at me and it seemed to me that He said many things.”

Fr. Tiziano concentrated on the “new ontology” (or man’s new self-understanding) which the Crucified One, through that “loving me and giving up himself for me”, has triggered in the human heart. Awareness of the fact that “I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20) gives a new identity to the viewer of the event of the Cross.

The I am, around which centres the existence of a person, will no longer depend on what the subject has been able to deduce from his/her own thinking and actions and from the rational syntheses which he/she has elaborated on the basis of his/her social, cultural, intellectual and other pre-comprehensions, but will depend on the discovery of being the way I am because already thought of and loved by Christ, that is to say, on being dispossessed of myself by a relation in which the Crucified One indicates to the I  the from-where and towards-where of its existence.

For personal reflection and prayer, the preacher asked the community the following question: If, as St Paul states (Galatians 2:20), Christ lives in me because he has given up himself for me, and therefore if “I am Christ’s act of love for me” rather than the fruit of my culture, of my social condition, of my past and so on (as we usually like to think), what is the new attitude I must adopt in my relation with God, with others, with the mission to which I am called?

At 12:00 a.m., the communities gathered for the Eucharistic celebration that was presided over by Fr. Tiziano. In listening to the Word and sharing the Bread, we communicated some elements which have touched us deeply as children and missionaries. We concluded the day together with a hundred-per-cent family lunch.
