Venerdì 22 aprile alle ore 12.00, subito dopo l’ udienza con Papa Francesco a San Pietro, ha preso il via il CoMiGi2022, il Convegno Missionario Giovanile che ha visto la presenza di oltre 300 partecipanti da tutta Italia. Organizzato da MissioGiovani - organismo pastorale delle Pontificie Opere Missionarie dell’Italia - presso la Fraterna Domus di Sacrofano nel nord di Roma, le attività del CoMiGi si sono protratte fino a lunedì 25 aprile tra incontri, testimonianze, tavole rotonde, “aperitivi missionari”, preghiera, celebrazione, spettacoli, musica… tutto per favorire più possibile il coinvolgimento attivo dei partecipanti. Titolo del Convegno: “La Missione riparte dal futuro. Una sfida che vuole guardare in avanti”. Le diverse attività delle giornate si sono articolate intorno ai tre verbi che papa Francesco ha affidato ai Giovani per la Missione di Gesù oggi: “Rialzati”, “Prenditi Cura” e “Mettiti in cammino”. Il CoMiGi2022 è stato anche l’occasione per celebrare i 50 anni della fondazione di quello che inizialmente si chiamava MGM, Movimento Giovanile Missionario, e dal 2009 divenuto MissioGiovani. Come Missionari Saveriani abbiamo sempre sostenuto le attività di MissioGiovani, e anche in questa occasione abbiamo partecipato attivamente: i confratelli studenti della Teologia Internazionale di Parma e i confratelli impegnati nella Formazione, Animazione Missionaria e Promozione Vocazionale (Parma, Salerno e Tavernerio). On Friday, April 22nd, at 12:00, after the audience with Pope Francis in St Peter, CoMiGi2022 (Youth Missionary Convention 2022) was inaugurated. 300 participants from all over Italy were in attendance. Organised by MissioGiovani – a foundation of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Italy – the Convention was held at Fraterna Domus of Sacrofano in the north of Rome. Its proceedings continued till Monday, April 25th, and included meetings, testimonies, panel discussions, “missionary cocktails”, prayer, celebration, entertainments, music, etc. Everything was meant to promote, as much as possible, the active involvement of participants. Title of the Convention: “Mission Starts Again from the Future. The challenge of looking ahead.” Every day, the various activities centred around three verbs that Pope Francis entrusted to the youth for the mission of Jesus today: “arise”, “care” and “witness.” CoMiGi2022 has been the occasion for celebrating the 50-year anniversary of foundation of the former MGM, i.e., Movimento Giovanile Missionario (Youth Missionary Movement), which since 2009 has become MissioGiovani. We, Xaverian Missionaries, have all along supported the activities of MissioGiovani and also in this occasion have actively participated – our confreres students of the International Theologate of Parma, confreres working in Formation, in Mission Awareness and Vocation Ministry (from Parma, Salerno and Tavernerio) took part in the convention.
