Sabato 7 maggio lo Studentato Teologico Internazionale Saveriano di Parma (Studenti e due Formatori, condotti da Ermanno Ferro) hanno esperimentato alcune intense ore di visita ai Luoghi Natali di mons. Conforti, dando così compimento ad altre precedenti tornate fatte al Santuario Conforti, alle Memorie Confortiane Saveriane, al Centro Studi Conf. Sav., ed ai Luoghi della città di Parma, ove il santo vescovo e nostro fondatore è vissuto.

Dopo la visita "all'umile chiesetta del paese natio" di Ravadese, ove hanno sostato soprattutto attorno al Battistero in cui il Conforti è stato generato alla Vita Cristiana il 30 marzo 1865, si sono portati alla Casa natale di Casalora. Qui sono stati gentilmente accolti dalle tre Famiglie Carini che oggi vivono nella antica grande corte agricola già dei Conforti. Quindi, simpatiche conversazioni in più lingue (oltre alla parmigiana e bresciana...: i Carini provengono da Brescia!) con i signori Battista ed Anna con la figlia Eleonora ed il nipote Cristiano, Piero e Maria con i loro figli... si sono alternate a gustosissime torte offerte dalle "rezdore" Anna e Maria con Eleonora. Infine, un giro nell'immensa stalla ed ai campi della vasta fattoria ha permesso un contatto con ciò che ha costituito il naturale mondo infantile respirato dal Conforti, sotto lo sguardo di Mamma Antonia e Papà Rinaldo, "il quale qui ha fatto la sua fortuna..." diceva divertito mons. Guido Maria.

Rientrando a Parma, non è mancato uno sguardo a ciò che rimane dell'antica Abbazia di San Martino de' Bocci o Valserena, ove i monaci cistercensi già nel 13° secolo avevano edificato il loro monastero, a cui apparteneva l'estesa campagna poi incamerata da Napoleone..., e più tardi acquistata in buona parte da Rinaldo Conforti. On Saturday, May 7^th, the International Xaverian Theologate of Parma (i.e., the students and two formators, led by Ermanno Ferro) spent some intense hours visiting the native places of Msgr. Conforti. This visit brought to completion the three previous ones that were carried out in the Conforti Shrine, in the Confortian Memorial Exhibition and Centre for Confortian and Xaverian Studies, and the places in the city of Parma where our saintly bishop and founder lived.

After the visit to the “humble little church of the native place” in Ravadese, where they lingered over the baptismal font in which Conforti was generated to Christian life on March 30^th, 1865, the visitors moved to Conforti’s native home in Casalora. There, they were kindly welcomed by the three Carini Families that today live in the ancient big courtyard that once belonged to the Confortis. Humorous conversations in various languages (including Parmesan and Brescian dialects – note that the Carinis come from Brescia – with Mr Battista and Mrs Anna, their daughter Eleonara and grandchildren Cristiano, Piero and Maria, and  their sons…) alternated with very delicious cakes offered by the rezdore (‘forewomen’) Anna and Maria with Eleonora. Finally, a walk around the huge stable and the fields of the vast farm gave a firsthand taste of what constituted the natural world in which Conforti lived as a child, under the vigil look of Mamma Antonia and Papà Rinaldo, “who made his fortune here …” as Msgr. Guido Maria used to say with amusement.

On our way back to Parma, we stopped to inspect also the remains of the ancient San Martino de’ Bocci o Valserena Abbey, where as early as the 13^th century Cistercian monks had already edified a monastery. That monastery was the original owner of the vast estate confiscated by Napoleon and later acquired in large part by Rinaldo Conforti. (Ermanno Ferro s.x.)
