Il primo aspetto dell’animazione vocazionale in Sierra Leone ha a che fare con le attività generali di visita a parrocchie selezionate e scuole cattoliche secondarie per presentare le vocazioni cristiane ai ragazzi, incoraggiare i giovani studenti a studiare bene, e accompagnarli nel loro cammino di scelta di una vocazione o carriera futura.

Il secondo elemento riguarda gli incontri con gruppi di giovani. Li visitiamo, osserviamo ed incontriamo. Ci rivolgiamo in particolare ai battezzati cattolici e a coloro che manifestano l’intenzione di offrire la propria vita per la missione o si sentono chiamati al sacerdozio.

Il terzo componente consiste nello stabilire i primi contatti con essi, sia online che personalmente. Inoltre, organizziamo visite periodiche. Durante i nostri contatti personali, offriamo loro del materiale (stampato) ricco di riflessioni e catechesi da leggere. Li invitiamo anche a partecipare ai nostri incontri vocazionali e ai programmi search in (ricerca).

Questo è il nostro approccio vocazionale, specialmente con quelli che hanno fatto le scuole superiori.

In Sierra Leone abbiamo anche candidati o aspiranti che non sono in possesso dei requisiti per poter entrare in seminario e che per questo stanno facendo dei corsi di recupero per prepararsi all’esame di ingresso alle scuole superiori (West African Examination for Senior Secondary Schools), come pure per ottenere crediti di lingua inglese. The first aspect of the Vocational Animation in Sierra Leone refers to the general activities where we visit selected parishes and catholic secondary schools and introduce to the students about Christian vocations and encouraging the young students to study well and to accompany them in their choices in terms of vocations or careers for the future.

The second element is about the encounter with group of young boys. We, visit them, see, and meet them, especially the baptized Catholics and those who manifest the desire and the intention to offer their life as missionaries or they feel called for priestly vocation.

The third component is about establishing the first contacts with them, online or personally. Besides, we organize seasonal visits. In our personal encounters, we offer them material (softcopies) rich in reflections and catechesis to read. We also invite them to participate in our vocational meetings and search in programs.

In general, this is our vocational approach, particularly towards those who have done the Senior Secondary Schools.

In Sierra Leone, we also have candidates or aspirants who are lacking credits for Seminary requirements and now are studying remedial classes in order to prepare for the West African Examination for Senior Secondary Schools and to get the credits of English language.
