Sul prato verde, all’entrata della casa Saveriana di Vicenza, sono stati allestiti 7 presepi a misura d’uomo. Il più imponente è quello che riunisce 16 musicisti, disposti in cerchio attorno al Bambin Gesù, formando una vera orchestra diretta dal piccolo festeggiato, collocato in mezzo, in piedi, con in mano la bacchetta da maestro d’orchestra. I musicisti sono di varie culture e hanno strumenti diversi. Lo spartito è uguale per tutti e la sinfonia celestiale. Alla luce dell’ Enciclica “Fratelli tutti”, si vuole presentare il mondo nella diversità delle culture, e allo stesso tempo, la volontà di realizzare un’armonia di rispetto reciproco e di pace. 

Entrando poi in casa, si trovano disposti circa 200 presepi di varie dimensioni, provenienti da culture di quattro continenti. 

Un gruppo di volontari del GAMS (Gruppo Amici Missionari Saveriani), a turno, è presente per accompagnare i visitatori: persone singole, famiglie con bambini, parrocchie provenienti anche da altre diocesi, scolaresche, istituzioni varie. 

Abbiamo avuto anche la gradita visita dei ragazzi ortodossi rumeni, nostri vicini di casa. Durante la loro visita hanno eseguito vari dei loro canti natalizi.

In questa iniziativa ci sentiamo missionari nell’offrire l’occasione di presentare le nostre attività nel mondo con il video, con interventi di accompagnamento per i piccoli gruppi e con il messaggio stesso del presepio: Gesù è l’inviato del Padre per fare del mondo una sola famiglia. Seven human-sized presepi (Christmas cribs) have been set up on the green lawn at the entrance of the Xaverian house in Vicenza. The hugest of them gathers 16 musicians in a circle around the Child Jesus; they form a little orchestra conducted by the Holy Infant who stands with a baton in his hand at the centre of the feast. The musicians belong to different cultures and hold different musical instruments, but the musical score is the same for everyone, while the symphony is celestial. In the light of Fratelli tutti, this scene aims at representing the world with the diversity of its cultures and, at the same time, the will to bring about harmony through mutual respect and peace.

As one enters the house, he/she finds a display of about 200 presepi of various dimensions and coming from cultures of four continents.

A group of volunteers belonging to GAMS (Gruppo Amici Missionari Saveriani) takes turns accompanying visitors: individuals, families with kids, parishes that come also from other dioceses, school groups, various institutions. 

Moreover, we were pleased to receive the visit of the Romanian Orthodox children that are our neighbours. During the visit, they performed several of their Christmas carols.

We feel that this is a missionary activity which gives us the chance to present our activities in the world through videos, talks while accompanying small groups of visitors, and through the very message of the presepio: Jesus was sent by the Father to make of the world one single family.
