Il S. Natale nelle nostre comunità delle Missionarie di Maria – Saveriane quest’anno è stato caratterizzato da una certa essenzialità, dovuta al rispetto delle norme in vigore a causa della pandemia, ma nella salvaguarda del nostro spirito di Famiglia, grazie alla creatività e all’impegno di tutte. In Casa Madre a Parma, dove da due mesi si vive di nuovo con mascherine, distanziamento, visite esterne sospese, uscite ridotte allo strettissimo necessario, il regalo più bello (e per niente scontato) è stato ritrovarci tutte in buona salute e poter festeggiare insieme. Un altro grande regalo è stata la Celebrazione Eucaristia quotidiana, compreso il pomeriggio della Vigilia di Natale, grazie alla presenza fedele dei nostri fratelli Saveriani che ringraziamo di cuore.

I momenti tradizionali dello scambio dei doni tra le due comunità (Casa Madre e Direzione generale), i pasti insieme anche con le sorelle ammalate, la tombolata di fine anno sono stati mantenuti, anche se con qualche aggiustamento d’obbligo. Tutte hanno fatto del loro meglio per rendere bella la festa. Impossibilitate a farci vicine fisicamente a parenti, amici, persone bisognose, abbiamo supplito con preghiere, telefonate e qualche gesto concreto, a distanza.

Già dalla prima domenica di Avvento due grandi stelle hanno illuminato il nostro cortile e hanno incoraggiato (così ci è sembrato) i nostri vicini ad accendere altre stelle e luci da balconi e alberi, che hanno espresso anche visibilmente il bisogno quest’anno di una luce e una speranza ancora più forti. Christmas Season in our communities of Missionaries of Mary – Xaverian Sisters, this year has been characterized by a certain essentiality, due to our compliance with the rules in force due to the pandemic, but also by our commitment to safeguard our family spirit, thanks to the creativity and commitment of all.  In our Mother House of Parma, where for two months we have been living again with masks, distancing, suspended external visits, exits reduced  to the very essential needs, the most beautiful gift (not  at all taken for granted) was to find ourselves all in good health and to be able to celebrate together.  Another great gift was the daily Eucharist Celebration, including the afternoon of Christmas Eve, thanks to the faithful presence  our Xaverian Brothers and Sisters, whom we warmly thank.

The traditional moments of exchange of gifts between the two communities (Mother House and General Direction) meals together with the sick Sisters, the ‘tombolata’ at the end of the year were maintained, although with some mandatory adjustments.  All the Sisters did their best to make the party  beautiful.    Unable to make ourselves physically close to relatives, friends, people in need, we pleaded with prayers, phone calls and some concrete gestures, at a distance.

Already from the first Sunday of Advent two great stars lit up our courtyard and encouraged (as it seemed to us) our neighbors to turn on other stars and lights from their balconies and trees, which also visibly expressed the need this year for even stronger light and hope.
