AGLI ECONOMI DI CIRCOSCRIZIONE RIUNITI IN CONVEGNO
Carissimi Confratelli,
Benvenuti al Convegno Internazionale degli Economi di Circoscrizione.
L’economia e la retta amministrazione dei beni rivestono una parte importante nelle nostre Comunità locali e nella Congregazione intera. Possiamo dire che il rapporto nostro con i soldi, anzi, è uno degli aspetti più visibili, se non il più delicato, della nostra quotidiana testimonianza. L’onestà, l’osservanza delle Leggi, il non attaccamento al denaro, la libertà dall’ingordigia di maggiori proventi, il sentimento di gratitudine verso coloro che ci aiutano economicamente, sono attitudini che in un saveriano devono necessariamente essere presenti.
Il rapporto tra Voto di povertà e uso dei beni trova il suo equilibrio solo nella libertà interiore. la libertà interiore, poi, è frutto della fede e della fiducia in Dio. Desta ancora molta tristezza quando si sente che ci sono amministrazioni poco corrette, osservanza parziale delle leggi dello Stato e uso privato di denaro, il quale tutto appartiene alla comunità. Si sa che questa è una antica tentazione, dalla quale ci mette in guardia il Signore stesso: Non potete servire a Dio e a mammona (Lc 16,13); È più facile che un cammello passi per la cruna di un ago, che un ricco entri nel regno dei cieli (Mt 19,24).
Scopo del Convegno è fornire dei mezzi e dare dei criteri per una amministrazione dei beni che sia in consonanza con la Vita Consacrata e le esigenze amministrative odierne. Vorremo anche che, attraverso questo Convegno, arrivassimo ad accettare e mettere in pratica dei comuni criteri di amministrazione e di rendiconto. Questo serve per unificare la nostra Famiglia e per aiutarci di più vicendevolmente.
Il filo conduttore del Convegno, però, è il ringraziamento alla Provvidenza. Fino ad ora mai il Signore ci ha abbandonato. E’ un vero miracolo di amore, che esula da qualsiasi contabilità. Ogni giorno di questa settimana sia giorno di presa di coscienza di quanto il Signore ci vuole bene. Il lavoro delle nostre mani, i benefattori e gli amici, sono i segni della Misericordia di Dio padre.
Grazie sincere per il vostro servizio indispensabile.
Grazie a p. M. Mula che ha preparato il Convegno e grazie anche alla comunità SX di S. Pietro in Vincoli che non vi deluderà in nessun aspetto della vostra permanenza.

TO THE MEETING OF CIRCUMSCRIPTION TREASURERS
Dear brothers,
Welcome to the International Meeting of Circumscription Treasurers.
Finances and the correct administration of goods constitute an important part of the life of our local Communities and the entire Congregation. Indeed, we can say that our relationship with money is one of the most visible, if not the most delicate, aspects of our daily witness. Honesty, the observance of the Laws, non-attachment to money, freedom from the greed for greater revenue, and the sentiment of gratitude towards those who help us financially, are attitudes that must necessarily be present in a Xaverian.
The relationship between the Vow of poverty and the use of goods finds its balance only in inner freedom, which is the fruit of faith and trust in God. It is still a cause of great sadness when we hear that there are still cases of incorrect administration, partial observance of State laws and the private use of money, which all belongs to the community. We know that this is a long-standing temptation, against which the Lord himself warns us: You cannot be the slave both of God and of money (Lk 16:13); It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter the kingdom of Heaven (Mt 19:24).
The purpose of the Meeting is to equip ourselves with instruments and choose criteria for a correct administration of goods that is in harmony with the consecrated Life and modern administrative demands. We also wish that, through this Meeting, we will come to accept and put into practice some common criteria of administration and financial statements. This will help to unite our Family and enable us to help each other more.
The central idea of the Meeting, however, is gratitude to Divine Providence. The Lord has never abandoned us and this is a true miracle of love, which is beyond any bookkeeping. Every day of this week should be one in which we realize how much the Lord loves us. The work of our hands, our benefactors and friends, are all signs of the Mercy of God our Father.
