MESSICO
Durante la vista di Papa Francesco al Messico, Radio Vaticana ha intervistato in diretta, via telefonica, P. Javier Peguero Pérez chiedendogli le sue impressioni su alcuni momenti significativi della visita (incontro con i vescovi, i giovani, i sacerdoti, religiose e religiosi e l'importanza dell'Anno della Misericordia).
Flash segnala come particolarmente significativo un passaggio del Discorso di Papa Francesco alle autorità: «Penso e oso dire che la principale ricchezza del Messico oggi ha un volto giovane; sì, sono i suoi giovani… Questo permette di pensare e progettare un futuro, un domani. Questo dà speranza e apertura al futuro. Un popolo ricco di gioventù è un popolo capace di rinnovarsi, di trasformarsi; è un invito a sollevare lo sguardo con entusiasmo verso il futuro e, al tempo stesso, ci sfida positivamente nel presente».

Bukavu,12 febbraio: il Consiglio Presbiterale ha espresso parere favorevole perchè l’Arcivescovo autorizzi i Saveriani a costruire la scuola in memoria di don Tonino nel terreno dell’Archi-diocesi vicino all’Istituto Avenir (Panzi).

MEXICO
During the Pope’s visit to Mexico, Fr. Javier Peguero Pérez took part in a live interview via telephone with Vatican Radio. He was asked about his impressions on some important moments of the papal visit (meetings with the bishops, young people, priests, men and women religious and the importance of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy).
In his meeting with the authorities on 13 February, the Pope said: « I believe and I dare to say that Mexico’s principal richness today has a young face; yes, this richness is your young people. Just over half of the population is made up of youth. This makes it possible to contemplate and plan for a future, for a tomorrow. This offers hope and future prospects. A people with a youthful population is a people able to renew and transform itself; it is an invitation to look to the future with hope and, in turn, it challenges us in a positive way here and now ».

Bukavu,12 Feb: the Council of Priests has given its consent to the Archbishop to authorize the Xaverians to build a school in memory of Fr. Tonino on archdiocesan land near the Avenir Institute (Panzi).
Lubumbashi, Arrupe Center, 25-29 Jan: Fr. Turco represented the Asuma of Bukavu at the national Asuma-Usuma Meeting, which was organized to mark the conclusion of the Year of the Consecrated Life. 235 people took part. The topic (developed during nine conferences): the Consecrated Life in the Democratic Republic of Congo fifty years after Perfectae caritatis.
